Oh yeah, definitely. Stop feeding them nitrogen about 2 weeks before harvest and then stop all nutes all together about 7-10 days before harvest. Just use ph'd water and maybe a flushing product like FloraKleen. (i just use water).
Flushing helps improve the taste and helps speed the drying and curing process. After that you should have some primo bud that smells, tastes, and burns great.
here's a great article by Zandor:

Flushing removes any chemical residue that have built up in the crop.
It is recomended because nitrate salts (a form of nitrogen in NPK) are not healthy to smoke.
A gradual reduction over the last two weeks before harvest tends to work well.

I've actually gotten to the point where I just use water for the last 3-4 weeks, just to be on the safe side. I was stopping feedings at 2 weeks, but it was a game of Russian roulette if just a few flushes would kill that chemmy taste. Being stuck with a quarter pound of chemmy tasting buds will make a person real cautious, real quick! :D

I flush the last two weeks of a grow...My grow gets water and Botanicare Sweet the first week of the flush...The last week of flush I use "Final flush" with their last watering...
