I just purchased this light on ebay for 200. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many plants i should try and grow for optimal production with this type of light. I want quality over quanity to maximize my yields. Would 6 plants be to much?

Hi.. Its not so much the number of plants because this depends on strain, veg time and other variables. With a 400 you can grow nicely in a 3x3 space. I hope this makes sense... I recommend growing fewer plants with longer veg times for higher yields, If youve got the patience... Sometimes I dont.. d:rastasmoke:

I got the same light...I had it in a 3x1x3 space and it torched the plants....I moved it to my walk-in closet and its vegging perfect since there is sooo much more space for the heat to circulate and get out...Unless you bought a cool tube youre gonna need to do some major venting...

3 or 4 flowering females is plenty....for first grows, using 400 watt. IMO.

yes ...you need very good ventilation, too. You can veg several more plants (10?)...and toss out the males later, plus any weak sisters....before it gets too crowded...during 12/12.
