What to do with the spare parts?
I built this micro ebb and flow for a total cost of $2.80 US.

Pic 1 is a compression connector that i bout at home de"POT". lol
in pic 2 you can see how it will thread into my manifold and the other end will attach the 1/4" O.D fish airline hose for the water inlet.
pic 3 is the water overflow hose 1/4 O.D that will be super glued in place along the wall.
pic 4 is the whole thing with the hoses placed through the bottom and silicone to make it water tight.

Container $1.00 At a dollar store (Thanks china) Prolly a 2 gallon at most.
Fish airline hose was free cus it was just laying around.
silicine was free i had it for a while.
compersion fitting was about 1.70 US
I allready have the rockwool and will fill with river stone i have left over that was bought from home dePOT.
This will be hooked to my manifold and all be watered when my pump kicks on.
Curently my manifold is watering 9 plants. and will soon be watering 2 or 4 more. All you have to do is look at an object and thnk how to make it grow for you. lol

Not bad for a lil home grown inginuity.

Spray paint or duct tape the outside of that pot to prevent light entering the root zone.

Like Stinky said make the tray and res light proof...I'd also make a lid so the pots sit in the lid and the roots can dangle freely, also making it completly light proof in the flood table... I've got some experience with ebb n flo and have found that the plants seem to like it better in the lid than just sitting in the tray... Good luck ...let's see some pix of it filled up and in action...
