theyll just get bigger, and they wont show preflowers under 24 hours of light like some plants do under 18/6. id put that little thing under 24 hours as well to get it bigger, then when the time is right slowly adjust it to 12/12!

preflowers is a little flower that the plant puts out to start its sexing, pretty much lets you know that its a female!!

Local growers in my area use 24 hour light and tell me the Kannabis plant will grow faster.

18/6 just resembles nature a little better, but i too veg under 24/0, seems to develop new shoots faster, and have more vertical growth! but for some plants its better to go under 18/6, itll allow u to determine the sexes before u go into flowering!! pretty cool stuff!!

I do 20 and 4 ,While I was in Amsterdam(a trip paid for by growing das weed) this past year I was able to see and talk to a few growers all of them say They have a higer rate of male plants when vegging from seed and a higher rate of hermi's,when growing on for 24. They also say that it Takes longer to veg to size because the roots grow better in the dark cycle, therefore they plant is slower to size. they said 20/4 is better than 18/6 for to stop pre-flowering in some strains. Now I havent grown long enough to test this myself but it was clear to me they had.

a good way to get majority females when ur first starting from seed is to put the light cycle on 8/16, being light/night. only for the first week though, it should help greatly, its been recommended by many "good growers" and seed banks! my strain DYNAMITE preflowers under 18/6 so i have to leave it on 24/0 to get any good abundant growth!

some of you have heard my cry for help [yellow not mellow] so until i get more advice to help cure my problem i'm going to cut back on the 24 hours of light and give em some darkness hoping to stimulate root growth. I want to do the right thing and figure this can't cause any damage. Any comments.

since you're using fluorecent's 24/0 will help them grow faster as well as the root's....bonbon http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3127.html

Sorry boys, this is a bit unrelated but i couldn't work out how to post a new thread. Does anyone know of any sites that have good photos of plants with deficiencies? Mine are going a bit yellow and crispy at the bottom and I've been feeding them  . They are a bit cramped for space so it may have something to do with that. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers

I don't get it.. I'm a newbie to this stuff. So tell me if I'm wrong.. u're saying that 24 hours of light for as many weeks as u want will make the plant grow faster and bushier and it won't flower? and night cycles makes the roots grow? so which is better? letting the roots grow first or bushing it out first?

Roots will grow fine with 24 hour light in both soil and hydro.

Good Growing!
