Recently a friend of mine has started to grow White Widow x Afghan Kush along with Purple Bubba Kush using CFLs and he is two days into his first grow. The plants are being grown in a wardrobe box painted white using 10 26watt CFLs of mixed spectrums. He has a inside and is using black garbage bags to stop light leaks. Does anyone have any advice for this grow. Hopefully I will be able to put up pictures soon.

Its being grown in fox farm ocean breeze or something like that.

Hi Quinn, sounds good. Do you guys have ventalation? You probably only a small fan blowing on them. I have CFL grow in a small area with CFLs and I am amazed how hot it gets in there.

I just have one fan on them but its REALLY strong. I'm hoping to get an inline fan for an exhaust though

Quinn, The one fan may be enough my fan with passice exhaust brought down my temps 15-20 degrees.

thanks i was thinking the same thing, my box has some spaces in it and such but i'm not worried about them because its in an area that receives no light other than the light i use when i'm in there, its pretty well ventilated

I actually just realized the lights i'm using are only 14 watts :( . Is this still enough?

Not for much longer, you need to get some wattage in there quick. Home Depot has 42 watt CFLs for like 8 bucks each, good investment:)

Thanks for the advice :thumbsup: . I just added a few more bulbs, I went to home depot earlier today and added more lights using socket splitters and higher watt bulbs.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, I really hope i have a 50/50 chance but its not looking too good for the Ice plant :(

Quinn, You might try misting her, she's probably too big to try putting a dome over her but you can I'd try that.

Thanks for the advice thats just what I've been doing since yesterday :thumbsup:. I also trimmed all of the dead foliage and topped the dead parts of the plant. All the leaves on the Ice are new and very small, and i somewhat butchered it :wtf: expecting it to die anyway but it might pull though I hope it does.

The one on the left looks healthy, the one on the right won't make it back. You need more light too. How many weeks in? My guess is 3-4.

The one on the right used to be the healthier of the two. Anyway I'm 2 1/2 weeks into my grow, the Purple Bubba is doing good and the Ice which i thought was gone is forming new leaves, I'm going to give it a few days to see how its doing. I took it for dead so i topped most of the plant and took off all the dried leaves, leaving a less than minimal amount of leaves and as of right now I'm just waiting.

The Ice has started growing some new leaves and might be making a comeback, and I cut it about two days ago. ;)

Quinn, What's your lighting schdule? The ice should be sent back to start vegging again and in maybe 3-4 weeks you and reflower her.

My light schedule is 18/6 I haven't even started flowering yet, I'm gonna let it continue vegging for a while around four weeks most likely. I'm not quite sure how long it is safe to veg for without negatively affecting yeilds, I might even let it go for another two weeks, the plants are into their 19th day of vegging.

Oh and dude drop me an IM on AIM or hit up my cell. I just recently got a phone, it's the same number as before. Also make sure you got good lighting that won't create heat issues.

The Ice plant is still growing, I'm going to leave it in veg for another two weeks. It made it.

Quinn, Two weeks might not be enough recovery time for the ice she may need 4 hopefully she won't go hermie on you but then again if she does you'll have fem seeds.

ice? from nirvana? i had some of these, and i got arrested so they died at my house =(, sad story lol i had some love potion #2 also, this was 2 years ago so oh well, yours look nice, except for the ice =) i wish u luck
