Ok guys, being as I have taken a lot of information from these boards to progress my knowledge of growing, I figured it only right to post what I have learned as I go.

This is my first grow, I don't have much space to commit to a grow room, so I hijacked my second bathroom and went to work. I started with seeds I had saved from previous batches of descent commercial. Didn't want my first time to be with anything I wouldn't mind killing. :P I decided to grow in the bathtub, being it was already white/reflective. Along with a vinyl white shower curtain, I think that is about the same a Mylar. I used Premiere Horticulture Pro-Mix BX for my soil, I happened to have a full bag of it lying around. Only one of my plants had the benefit of having a suitable amount of perlite added to it, being I figured the mix had enough in it to start with. I have yet to see any negative results from the three plants that I did not add more perlite to.

For lighting I started with 2 4 foot fixtures, each running 1 40w OTT LITE and 1 40w Phillips Plant & Aquarium Lite. The OTT LITE gives off more of a blue light while the Phillips light is more of a red light. (As seen in the pic)
Now that I have moved into the flowering stage, a buddy of mine loaned me a 400W MH setup to use until I could afford my own. I have been running them 22 on 2 off throughout the veg. phase.

For nutes, I have yet to decide on a flowering nute, but for veg growth I used very little Peters Professional All Purpose Plant Food. By very little I mean 1-2 tbsp total for all 4 plants through the veg. phase.

So far the babies look healthy, so I think I am on the right track. They are around 4 weeks old. I have been watering them every 5 days but now that I have the MH running it seems that I will have to water them more. More heat is accumulating in the tub. I do my best to keep the temp below 80F. But it seems to hover right around that point. Any further advice that could be offered is greatly appreciated. Right now I am having trouble deciding on what type of nute to use for flowering. Preferably something that can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot.

P.S. If anyone could be so kind as to direct me to where I can edit my signature that would be wonderful. Thanks Baka

Light proof? Guess he can just close the door to that bathroom since it is commited to the op for now I suppose. :)

Looks like healthy plants that have gotten good care man. Keep up the good work. Your sig you can edit after like 20-50 posts or something.
Fire away.

Keep your log updated and you will find a lot of help and have a good time with the people here while weed grows in your tub the coming months.

Hey Baka, they're looking good over there!
I'm gonna keep an eye on this grow.

How long do you plan to veg before you switch to flowering?
Remember, they're gonna nearly triple in height once you switch.

Best of luck to ya on your grow! Hope ya get some girls!

As far as the light issues they have been addressed. I live in a fairly rural area and most of my neighbors are only here during weekend through out the warmer months. The blinds in that bathroom have been closed since the day i moved in over 2 years ago. None the less I did put blankets over the blinds and from the outside you can't even tell the light is on. Now that I have gone to flowering, the lights will be off during the night time hours anyway.

Doobster, I just sent them to flower yesterday. They are about 4 weeks old and 9-10 inches high.

Shuve, The wife and I have decided forgoing our personal hygiene needs is a more than fair trade for our own garden of eden. :) lol it is a second bathroom so all butt cheeks will be clean. The seeds are just bag seeds, nothing special.

So I went out and bought some MG Bloom Booster, then proceeded to read on here that it is shit. I'm sick of messing around with this Lowe's Home Depot crap, as far as nutes are concerned. This weekend I am going to make the hour and a half trip to the closest hydro store, as I refuse to buy stuff online with a credit card.

Also thinking about picking up a Sunfire 4 bulb T-5 setup with the red spectrum bulbs. For $150 I don't think I can go wrong. At least that's what I have read in a few other threads.

Is that for everything including the ballast??? Most ballasts I have seen have been in the $150 area, and thats just for the ballast. I really would prefer a 600w HPS setup, just dont know that I will be able to afford it by the time my buddy needs his 400w MH back. Also I'm still iffy about purchasing stuff online with a credit card. I will for sure take a look around on Ebay though. Good lookin out man.

After hours of work, I switched bathrooms to one that is more "secure". A few downfalls are that the tub is now green not white and I can visually tell its not reflecting as well. So before long I will line the whole thing with white plastic. On the up side I now have more room to work with and if I take a few more steps, a unknowing visitor will never even know that room is there. Still praying for my weekend trip to the hydro store. Finances dictate.....

HAHA! Nice Sig Man. Lovin It. Lovin the Tub Too. Plants look good Bro. Good luck with the trip to the hydro store. I am still trying to find one within a 500 mile radius of where i live =(. I can just order my FF (when i obtain money) from their website. They had Gro Big Big Bloom and Tiger bloom for only 35$. Sounds good. Only Quart size tho. Anyone know how long theese Bottles last.(sorry for the the thread jacking question!)

Im not sure how long they will last. A buddy of mine, who lives by the hydro store I am going to, suggested I buy this.

B.C. Technaflora Recipe for Success Starter Pack by Horizen Hydroponics (http://www.hhydro.com/cgi-bin/hhydro/HH00565.html)

He said it should be more than enough for one grow.

I use the Technoflora nutes. They are a good deal. I also use TopMax, another bloom enhancing nutrient.

A few changes to report. I have gotten the starter pack and been using it. Seems to make the plants happy. Just following the recipie that came with the kit. Except cutting it in 1/2. I am a few weeks into flowering and they are looking pretty. I have also purchased a 600w Lumatek digital ballast, a Hydrofarm AC 6 reflector and the Hortilux 600w HPS bulb. Priced brand new, $500+. Picked my setup up for $250. Craigslist FTW!!!! I will post pics soon. Thanks for everything guys/gals!!!
