I have a plant that I was keeping for my mother and it has started to show signs of flowering. I have it on 18 on 6 off light cycle and the plant is a little more than 3 months old. Anyone have any ideas why this would happen before I put it into the 12/12 light cycle?
Also is there a way to keep it from budding anymore and continue to veg.? Turn the lights to 24hours on mabee?
Thanks for any input.

im not a genius, but if i understand some of my readings correctly, then u should have highly limited to NO growth at all so long as the plant is hit with sufficient light, and that the 'hormone' responsible for the growth of the flowers is sensitive to and disabled by light.
more over, ive heard that a plant may jump back into vegative growth (or become a hermie) if there are interuptions of light, however the writer of this statement did not specify how powerful the light is and how long this light is present

What is the strain? There are strains out there that will flower on their own in 18/6 light.

Go back to 24/0. Semi-autoflower strains will do funky things under even a partial dark cycle. Anything descended from Mighty Mite, Thundefuck, Donkey Dick, or any far-north/ruderalis strain should be watched suspiciously lol!

yes to make sure your clone mother has no flowering it needs to be on the 24/0 light cycle. otherwise it will flower like you say
