I watched the 30-minute Obama "infomercial," and I thought it was pretty good. Some of it was sappy, especially the background music. But overall it was a pretty good, well-produced, and enjoyable show.

The best thing about it was that it was a 100% positive message about the new ideas and changes that Obama would like to make as President. The show did not mention McCain in any way, especially not in any negative way. Compare that to McCain's sleazy smearfest, and you can see why McCain comes off as so small and petty these days. The positive, forward-looking tone was a refreshing break from the nastiness of the last few weeks.

The show told the stories of ordinary people in America who have different kinds of problems and challenges, and described how Obama's policies would help those people.

it was a very good show...it really struck a nerve when the old guy explained how he got screwed out of his pension, and then choked out an emotional 'thank you' after obama confirmed that he rightfully earned that money...it might have been the first time an authority figure acknowledged that he got ripped off

most people just want to be acknowledged...it feels like that hasn't been happening for the past 8 years

I really enjoyed it.

I agree with you, Dragonrider, the lack of negatives was great.

And the way he timed going to live was pretty awesome. I thought it was perfect.

Obama should've mentioned some things:

According to Matt Gonzalez, if you look at Obama's history, he voted for every war appropriation (delayed, maybe, one), The Patriot Act, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Amendment, has taken the democratic party to, now, wanting to reverse a 25-year ban on offshore drilling, keeping over 60,000 American soldiers in Iraq, escalating the war in Afghanistan, and, talks about increasing military spending (just like John McCain).

Military spending has already gone up from $300,000,000,000.00 (in 2001) to $700,000,000,000.00 (this year).

This comes from the first 1/5 of Matt Gonzalez' interview with Latina USA. http://www.utexas.edu/coc/kut/latinousa/stationservices/podcast/2008/10/1024_01_lusa_podcast.mp3

Whoops, I should've checked it, before now. I'm almost certain that it's Latino USA. Not Latina.
