is a seeds sex predetermined?

im interested to find that out also, has anybody heard of using the female birth control pill added to seeds for a while before planting will produce all females. Ive done it and didnt grow any males, but who can tell without a control, sorry to hijack your thread deriak,cheers

Truth, No the sex is not predetermined in the seed. Yes I have heard of even using pee from pregnant horses and woman to make female seeds. I personally use a product called Sensa Soak germination fluid. It works at the RNA level with female hormones to germinate seeds. I see a difference so I keep using it, but not every agrees (big surprise)

there's been ongoing debate about this for years and as far as i'm concerned i have to agree with mr jones'.

there are excellent threads at overgrow and heavens stairway you should read that covers this...but i don't think there have been any conclusions...i'll have to check in too and see where they're at in this debate...but last i recall they got muddled down in the feminised seeds issue. oh well...interesting topic tho

That garbage has been around for over 20 years now. If it did really work the makers would have a patten on it. There are no copy cat products either (that says it all)

when you take a female plant and clone it, then take one of the clones and force it to become male by using a weak water/asprin mix to water it with. that usually works. when it grows a male bud the pollen it contains is "feminized" or has two Y chromisomes when you use this pollen to fertilize a female clone's bud the seeds it produces are feminized, or they grow female, however you want to say it. when you come across a seed in some good kind smoke, save it. more often than not it will be female. but keep in mind that i mean GOOD kind smoke. most of those seeds are accidents. sometimes a female plant becomes hemaphroditic and then produces female male buds that hold that same feminized pollen i spoke about earlier in this response. thus creating feminized seeds in the nug.
