CH9 Green Bud Fem. CFL Hempy Grow

Well Guys....the people that followed my last log know i had a real bad week, but as those famous words say" The Show Must Go On!" The Strain is CH9's Green Bud heres a little info from CH9's strain info:

CH9 GREEN BUD FEMALE

An Indoor strain,that was re-worked here . A sister of the Aroma,taller,can be grown outside. A classic Mexican taste.Nice gene pool.Nice calyxes formation.Great for Homebox & closet growers.Some phenotypes will stretch.

Flowering time: 8 weeks.
Yield: 100 gr indoor with 30-45 days of veg

(can be grown Indoor/ outdoor)
Bouquet : Fruity

Lineage: Ed Rosenthal Super Bud pheno X 3-5 female pollen cubed (Power plant,Jack herer,CH9).

Flavor : flower ,bubble gum ,and "lily of the valley"aroma.
Type:Indica /Sativa


I will be growing Hempy Style again. Also, I will be using the Rubbermaid Box for the first stage of this grow. Nutes are going to be Fox Farm: Grow Big Hydro, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Open Seseme, Bestie Bloomz, and Cha Ching.

I will try to keep this log as detailed as possible for followers.....So here we go: I germed these seeds on Late Fri. Night Oct 17........Both Cracked by Sunday Morning......Then into jiffy pellet soaked in 1/2 strength Week 1 hydro nutes which consists of 1 tsp. grow big, and 2 tsp of big bloom per gallon.

Both Made it above ground by monday, but by accident i left the dome off on monday and tuesday the smaller of the 2 seedling was completely drooped over because the pellet got to dry(i thought she was a goner for sure).......watered them again with plain tap water ph around 7.8.......weds. the almost dead seedling was back to standing by herself......Thursday.....they both got transplanted into Hempy Coffee Containers.........and got wk1 nutes which consists of 1 tsp grow big, 2 tsp big bloom......They get feed every day......Heres some pics:

Well another week has passed and i know im getting boring but nothing has really changed in my grows.....

So far, the plants have been taken about 4-5 oz. of nutes per day. Both plants are showing Indica Dominate Genes at the moment.....they took very well to the nutes last week..The large plant is on her 5 node and is starting internode development and the small plant is on her 4 node and just showing the internode leaves...showing no signs of burn or deformity. The small plant is still a runt......she is growing about 4 days behind the large plant and about 30% less mass.....i really dont care about it....i kinda hope she stays this way because she will be an ideal canidate for the micro grow portion of this grow!

The plants will get a new nute formula this week. The nute formula comes directly from Fox Farms Website..im using nutes for hydro week 2.....It will consist of 2 tsp. of Grow Big hydro, 1 Tbsn. of Big Bloom.....800-900 PPM/.05 conversion meter. PH around 5.8-5.9. From past grows id imagine around day 10 the plants will need more nutes volume......this will increase from about 4-5 oz to about 1/6 of a gallon per plant.

hey killa, i'm new to hempy buckets; but if you were to have 1 gallon buckets and were using lucas formula, would you just mix the gallon mixture with the formula and then feed til 10% runoff?

Do you use nutes every watering? HOw often do you water?

Yes.....scrilladilla.....i would just mix your nutes by the gallon......and feed until 10% runoff.......i feed them nutes every watering........and the watering schedule i use is for the first 3 wks i feed daily....then i reduce the feedings to every other day.

Funny DT.....but ure right.....its update time!

Everything is well.....the plants are getting big.....no smell yet but the leaves are huge....I will be changing the nutes again today.......3 tsp of Grow big Hydro by itself...this is the only week i do not run big bloom in my nute recipes...somewhere around 800-900 ppm/.5 conv......the ph is around 5.9...

Update Time!

Well the plants are getting bigger and bigger by the day.....so much so that they hit the lights for a day.......I know this always happens with me....

The plants got their first reduced watering on thursday....now the plants will be feed every other day from now till the end of the grow! They seem to like all the nutes i can give them....this week the nute schedule will consist of tsp. of grow big hydro, 1 tbsn. of Big bloom, 1/4 teaspoon of open seseme....1100-1150 ppm/.05 conv. .....5.8-5.9 ph.

Each plant is now getting around 1/3 gallon per feeding....nutes every feeding!

From past experiences...as soon as i feed them the open seseme....it throws them into preflowering....even though they are fem seeds.....im getting ready for the process of flipping the lights.....at this point im probably gonna clone of the large plant because she has about 12-18 clone sites ready as of today.....the small plant just wouldnt give me enough clones for second part of this grow......so heres the future schedule.....veg for another week.....take as many clones of the large plant as possible for sog micro grow....the small plant ill probably veg for another 2 weeks....then flip the lights...

I think the 16oz cups are fine.....i just ran clones in 32 oz gatorade bottles(cut down to about 24 oz and only filled with about 20oz of medium) with a one week veg...and by the end they were no where close 2 being rootbound.....I use the same kind of ph tester with the drops.....seems accurate enough for me.....i bought mine at wal mart for $5(i am investing in a pen soon, but the drops have got me by for a year now!).......and the containers i use are around 3 1/2 liters recycled coffee tins. Well guys.....first off to aplogize for not chatting over the past 2 or so weeks...ill visit your logs soon......once again work is killing me.....end of the year....trying to make the books look good... 14+ hour days, 6 days a week, you get the picture....... but back to the grow.

Today i woke up and decided to clone.....i first set up the box for the clone grow to find out that there is no way 20+ clones will fit in there with gatorade bottles.....so id figure ill reduce the number.....i figure i can fit 9-16 clones comforably....so thats what i did.....i took 16 cuts....which was the entire small plant......so now i have 1 large plant which will be flowered tomorrow.....that will be getting a different nute receipe consisting of 2 tsp of tiger bloom, 1 tbsn of big bloom, and 1/4 tsp of open seseme...

Way i make clones:

I make cuts with a normal cheap sissor which i bought at Wal Mart......I dip the cuts in Olivia Cloning Gel.....i soak the jiffy pellets in half strenght Fox Farm Nutes which the feeding schedule comes from their web site.(mixture for clones and seeds 1/2 tsp of grow big, 1 tsp of big bloom).....i spray them once or twice a day with 7.0 phed water....and i leave the dome off each day starting on day 3, and i start by removing the dome for about 20 min on day 3 then hopefully 1-2 hrs by day 7 and by day 10-11 usually they will be able to deal with the reduced humidity and no dome. I can usually see roots on day 7-9.

Dooobster.......really there is nothing to it.....i think once you find your system.....it just like making sure the checklist is checked twoce.....im sure you will soon take the plunge into cloning.......and im no expert.......i just found out what works for me....in my envoirnment....and i just repeat!

Well.....

I went away for thanksgiving.....sh*t it was cold...well not really around 30F....but us southerns especially me.....i rarely see the temps drop below 70F.

I left for 5 days....i left a person which i felt confident could keep my babies alive.....got back and they all look perfect...

This is the 7 day of bloom.....they will get the same nutes as last week.....2tsp of Tiger Bloom, 1 tbsn of Big Bloom, 1/4 tsp of open seseme.....

The large plant is getting big....nice smell, but isnt showing one preflower yet....none....not really worried im sure they will be here any day.

The clones are 7 days old since getting cut...they are looking good and i expect to see roots any day now!

So Ive been trying to get my nute formula down (using the formula on the nutes wasnt working at all burning or deficient or something but now that i changed it starting to look better.) Also I got my pH pen so what i was feeding thinking it was 5.8ish using the fish tester was actually a 4.0-5.0! Ive been putting nutes in 5.7 but they come out about 4.7 what does this mean nutrient buildup or something? I know you use nutrients every time but would a flush benefit in my case? or shoudl I just leave it and see if the runoff eventually raises?

Man first i think you should tell me about the setup.....really the type of nutes? frequency of feeding? AND MOST IMPORTANT.....How much runoff do you get before you stop feeding....I think there might be a little nute build up but ive never had them....and all i do is follow hempy's origanal thread almost to a tee.....just different nute...Ie heard some crazy ph number from runoff soooo....this might not be so bad....please feel free to post as much info on this thread as you wish...even some pics might help...

What up secret...thanks for the complements....ive been using this same process for the last 4 runs....and the plants continue to look pretty symetrical......i just need to fine tune the plant efficiency......and maybe i can get a 1/2 lb out of this set up! Man first i think you should tell me about the setup.....really the type of nutes? frequency of feeding? AND MOST IMPORTANT.....How much runoff do you get before you stop feeding....I think there might be a little nute build up but ive never had them....and all i do is follow hempy's origanal thread almost to a tee.....just different nute...Ie heard some crazy ph number from runoff soooo....this might not be so bad....please feel free to post as much info on this thread as you wish...even some pics might help...

what week are you in...man there are so many factor in this....and i have so little of the picture to work!.....Please post asap so this problem doesnt get any worse! peace killa

Ok well using Holland Secret nutes which has a Growth/Micro/Bloom ratings of 2-1-7/5-0-2/0-6-4. I mix these 8ml/8ml/8ml (per gallon that will be in reservoir) now but WAS up until 2 feedings ago going by the bottle instructions and going 10ml/5ml/3ml per gallon. Ill add all the growth then close bottle shake all micro close bottle shake all blood close and shake leave it for about 20 minutes then add it to reservoir which has airstone and usually 2 more gallons. Adjust pH with aluminum sulfate down to 5.7ish leave for a day check next day to make sure pH is proper then water.

The 3 gallon res last me about 3 feedings. I feed every other day. I may not be letting enough run off you say 10% runoff but 10% of what? The size of the container orrr?) I usually just let it run off til the bowl that they are in fills up almost to the holes in the 18 oz cups. This is probably about half a cup runoff but I will get an exact volume for you later today. As well I will take picture later today and post.

The plants are probably 1 month old or maybe month and week

Day 8 from cutting and we have root.....Here we go....stage 2 is going to be a SOG Micro Grow 2x2x2 with 6 cfls....hopefully about 9-12 clones...

oK so I watered again this time pH in was 5.8 came out 4.7 again. This time I just watered with regular tap water and used some aluminum sulfate to get pH sown. After watering I measured runoff was between 125-200ml for each 18 Oz cup. Im going to get a ppm meter from hottub store tommorow check my tap water but I think its good although the pH of the water is 8.5 so maybe its not as good as I thought.. Ok so attatched is a picture of the problem they are having. The leafs start turning yellow around the edges moving inwards and they get these black/brown blotches.

is this growth only happening on the bottom of the plant....i have leaves that look like that exactly....but on the bottom my plants...usually due to not enough light at the bottom of the plant!

Also...your nute receipe look more like a high growth formula now then when using 8/8/8....i think you should try to stay close to their nute receipes... heres a chart...did know if you had it

Ya its mostly at bottom but they are under a 400W MH so I don't know if light is issue but yeah I will switch back to the original bottle feeding after this flush and test the PPMs today and see if they are anywhere near the chart. Thanks for help!
Edit: But I mean wow looking at yours they are like 100times bushier than mine but this is just my first try at hempy so Ill play it out and try it again to see if get any better results. What # hempy run is this for you?
Oh and do you think putting them into bigger containers (like 1.2 L big gulp cups) would be better than the small 18 Oz cups?

The coffee tins are about 3 lts......as far as water...but

and when i say 10% runoff.......Like me for example....those coffee cointainers take about 1/2 gallon of water.......even though they are only 3 lts.. i would feed till i saw about 10 oz of run off! maybe even a soda can worth of run off!

in those pics there are 12 plants...and yes they were flowered then jackers got to it! sh*t happens.......but for transplanting in hempys is as little difficult....i wait till they are really rootbound then i remove half of the cup and transplant into there new homes....same medium! if you look at my first log you can see what im talking about flip to the last page or so!

Here we go!.....Stage 2....32 oz. gatorade Bottle SOG Hempy Grow...16 plants.....i transplanted the plants this morning....I start by watering the medium( 4 pt perlite/1 pt verm.) with ph water 6.0 and a drop of superthrive.....then empty the water from the bottles....plant clones then feed wk 1 fox farm nutes 1 tsp. grow big hydro, 2 tsp big bloom.

i remeasured the box it is 18 inch D x 24 inch wide x 24 inch tall a pure micro grow....6 cfls right now 4 - 26 w 6500k / 2 23w 2700k...

Back to the update:

Well today is day 21 of Bloom on the large plant....the clones having been veging now for a week and will be flowered tonight! I must of been really high but there is only 15 clones...i dont know where i was getting 16 from but i had one bucket left after transplanting...The large plant will be getting 2 tsp. of Grow big, 1 tbl of big bloom, 1/4 tsp of cha ching......The small plants will start on there bloom formula today as well which consist of 2 tsp of tiger bloom, 1 tsp of big bloom. 1/4 of open seseme...The clones will start getting watered every other day from this day on....

The smell is quite strong from this strain....It stretch is about average....i will say this plant is probably take around 10 wks of flowering...probably the clones as well...enjoy the show...
