I JUST SWITCHED FROM HAND WATERING DRAIN TO WASTE TO EBB AND FLOW BUT HAVE NOT RAISED MY PPM'S. SHOULD I? RIGHT NOW IM RUNNING 6.0 PH, 1400 PPM WITH GH NUTRIENTS. ONLY A WEEK LEFT BUT IM WONDERING IF I COULD HAVE PUSHED THEM A LITTLE HARDER.
THANKS

I do ebb and flow, and I seldom ever have the ppm's even at 1400. Then during the last 10 days, I flush the plants with water. .... and you're asking if you should raise the ppm's near the end? The plants will only take what they need/want. Try setting the ppms on your next grow, say at 1000 ppm without drain and waste for a week, and then measure your nutrients. If your ppm is 800, that means your girls have been using MORE than 1000 ppm, but if it is more concentrated, like say 1300 ppm, then it tells you your plants are drinking more water, but not all the nutes you are dishing out.

im not asking if i should add nutes now, am asking if that should have been done throught this last run. "IM WONDERING IF I COULD HAVE PUSHED THEM A LITTLE HARDER." im about to flush, this run is over and in the books. im trying to tweek the numbers for the next run. 1400ppm is the recomended level set by GH. 1000ppm is way too low. i'll try testing the runoff and see if it drops below 1400.

I use GH (3 part). I would take GH's recommended guidelines with a grain of salt, as they are in biz to sell as much as they can. I really doubt you ever need to use more than 1000-1200 ppm. Testing the runoff will prove that.

the GH formula is pretty strong, I never went over 1200PPM and had great results for many years with an ebb-n-flow system. I used the dry 2 part formula. Maybe with CO2 I'd go up to 1300ppm but that's it.

ill start with 1200 and test the runoff, then go from there. GH came out with a new chart that has the E&F at way higher ppm than the drain to waste. just thought id check what you guys were running. good to know these things.
thanks
