I have been wondering if I should get one of these cards from the county. What do you think?

I didn't get one as my local shop told me it was unnecessary and I have not run into any problems without one so why get one

I voted NO, primarily because it is NOT required by California law, under the Prop. 215 provisions ... it gives your name and personal info to LEO, plus, some Counties have been charging $$ for them, (some, quite expensive) ... giving money to the same bastards that would just as soon arrest you, seems pretty dumb, to me :wtf:) ... keep a copy of your Doctor's Med. MJ recommendation on your person at all times ... I keep a copy in my wallet, my home, and my vehicle, plus, the Original is in a friend's safe ... :smokin:

Its just another tracking device. Don't do it.

On who you are and where you are! If you are a "cop magnet", frequently carry cannabis in a vehicle, have a "rabid" local cop who dislikes you, etc. by all means get one!

Me? I'm a "respectable" 61 year old teacher's aide in a corrupt county. No way I'm getting one! Ain't nobody's business but my own!

I vote no as well......although Storm Crow has some good reasoning behind getting one in her answer. In certain cases maybe it would be a good idea.

Not in mine though.

From what I've read the county id card programs are funded only by the fees collected. There is a web site where the police can punch in your id on the spot to see if your kosher.
My concern is that they will use the collected info against me or that if I ever had to show the card to law enforcement that they would disregard it altogether which would defeat the purpose of going to the trouble of being validated in the program.
I think this program might be something we have to keep an eye on.
Please keep the poll going, hopefully someone will also chime in with a first hand account of using the id and their story of how it worked out good or bad. Thanks everyone:jointsmile:

Just make a copy of your mmj authorization and keep it in your pocket. Its all you need. Its just like your regular prescriptions. You don't need to carry a card around for those. All you need is the bottle with the prescription on the side.
