I am currently saving up all of my stems from the bud and putting them in a bag along with a pinch of the herb as well. I plan on doing this for awhile, until I have a ziplock freezer bag full of tree and stems. Can I use these things to make cannabutter? If so, can i also add in hash when the time comes to increase the potency? Finally, the herb that i put i there is all amazing stuff from the clinic some of the best in cali so will the stems plus the old herb and hash make a pretty potent batch of cannabutter?

Bud stems should be fine if you save up enough. I've only used harvest trim, post harvest plants (stems/branches), males, and such - never used any actual bud when making oil/butter, and have had very good results each time.

See my friend Joe has only used branches as well. He grows a lot and makes lbs of butter but i've never tried it and he says its always really good, so im hoping that some really good kush, hash, and stems will make powerful butter. One more question actually...If i put the buds and stems into the butter and add hash to it as well, would it increase the potency a lot?

Have you thought of grinding all that up and blasting it into honey oil.

Honey oil huh? Never looked into that at all. What do you think would be more effective? I mainly want butter so i can quickly eat edibles. Smoking doesn't really get my that high anymore so i need a more powerful way and edibles have always worked for me.

If you want reach new levels of highness, make some hash oil/honey oil... Its the strongest thing you can get directly from weed. If you make it with stems, shake, etc, it will be moderately strong, and if you make it with good weed, it will be VERY strong... for me, one drop with some 1/8in of diameter has the same effect of one joint... and its possible (and very easy) to smoke much more than this... :stoned:

I looked into the honey oil man but i don't know if its for me. To be honest it just seems kind of like...dirtball...making the stuff. I mean I'm putting lighter fluid on my bud and waiting till it evaporates and i have what I hope to be cannabis oil left and not poison. I would for sure take the stuff if it was handed to me, but as for making it, just not my style, thanks a lot for the help though man.

damn people stay on track. linearvermin asked about making butter and everyone but Kowalski tried to get him to switch up the game plan! LOL, stoners! Honestly, for the collection you are taking I would stick to your plan. I agree with turning stems into oil as not being fruitful and the bags are way too much money and not enough from stems to really do what you want. Stems wont have as much THC as trim or shake will, so it may take you some time to save but go for it. If you cant wait I see it from time to time at the banks.

I should add... I did exactly this once. saved stems over the course of a semester and then used ice, water, blender, and coffee filter to make homemade hash, turned into pills. So your dream can happen if youre diligent.

Don't bother adding the hash; it's kind of a waste of hash really.
You can use all that stuff for butter. Check the edibles section for a sticky on the process. It is very easy, and I think it's fun. But I'm into cooking so I think anything in the kitchen (besides cleaning it) is fun... ;)
