View Full Version : Distance from plant to hps

Ok ive seen some post on this but there all so different

I have a 400watt hps with 430 ago bulb, the room is a 3X4 and about 7 feet tall

What distance should my lamp be from the plants, ive herd 12 inches then 16 then i herd 24 inches, then i herd 24 is to far an and 12 is 2 close, WHAT IS CORRECT :wtf:

I had fluros up till today and my temp was like 76, my hps is 2 feet away been on for 10 mins and temp just hit 80 and rising.

85, just set some fans directly on the lightbulb

how hot should i let it get till i say whoaa nelly i lowered it to about 18 inches and am maintaining 85degrease.

85 is borderline "too hot"...78 is ideal. (the zone between plants and the bulb)

You need a fresh, cool air supply passing through this zone.

get fans and actually change the air in the room often. if u have tent they sell small 5inch fans at walmart for 15-20.
