No leaves when it sprouts...?

is that normal?

this one was placed in soil with root up (been reading around & it seems both work) & its now come through but its just a fresh green stem with no leaves forming, just a slight brown looking curl on the end (hook style) but the stem that has come through looks really fresh & healthy....

under 3 CFL's & 1 big fluorescent tube light (cant remember there name)
temp around 78F with slight air flow from fan,

just cant find no info on here or net in general, most show the shell cracking open & falling off, or near instant round leaves

its only 2days old, but iv always seen them with near instant leaves about to form..

so, normal?

Do you have a photo?

When they first sprout they can look like a little stem with a hook before the leaves form. Here (http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/161947-look-little-bitty-sprout.html) is a thread I started a while back with a few photos of those exciting early days.

i dont na, but it was getting alot worse, so i uprooted it & the proper looking end was underneath :wtf:, it was basically the root that grow upwards!, iv turned it over now, which now looks how it should do, but i dont think it'll survive now.......any tips before it does :(

from now on tho, its going in root DOWN

I actually had something like that happen once! I just use peat-pucks and place seeds about 1/2" down and make sure they are nicely covered, I don't pre-soak or anything. I couldn't figure out what was going on when I had a nice normal looking sprout with a strange tentacle sprouting from the base, it was kind-of a race between the tentacle and the baby for a while before I figured out that it was the tap root and replanted it :-)

I did forget to mention that it should be planted with the taproot down. Sometimes they find their way but sometimes not. I'm glad you replanted it, hopefully it does its thing now.

lol well its somehow still very bright green & not saggy/dropped - but its stll very weak, got others ready, but there not through yet ;)

just hope it can hold on now
