DXM is highly addctive and if abused everyday it will have serious effects such as memory loss, suicidal impulses, and violent mental breaks, (mental snaps) Dxm is found in any medical fluid or pill that is used for suppressing coughs. Be careful not to overdose, at 1,200 miligrams DXM becomes toxic to your body. And in certain cough medicines such as Delsym(found in any Wal*Mart) there is a special type of DXM called Dextromophan polisterix. The polisterix is an edible time-release coating and takes time to kick in. <--this stuff is easier to overdose on because people commonly think that they didnt do enough when info tells us you just overdosed. DXM works like LSD, there are four plateaus. Plateau 1=kinda like you just slamed three beers, Plateau 2=like being drunk and stoned at the same time, Plateau 3=feels like a low dose of Special K, everything looks and sounds better then ever, Plateau 4=feels like a high dose of Special K, this includes mind trips and ghostly incounters(yes when you trip you can see and talk to ghosts, just dont piss them off). There are a few guidlines you should follow in order to stay away from bad trips, 1. DONT leave yourself alone, i made this mistake on my first trip on Delsym and it isnt fun to tweek out and watch yourself die. 2. Have a sober trip-sitter so you dont try to jump out a window and fly around town like Spiderman. 3. Think positive and have fun, negative thoughts are what causes bad trips, if you feel bad or like your dieing just repeat to yourself "it's all good" so drink some Robotussin or Delsym and have fun for a day. When smoking pot while still tripping on DXM it is like a high dose of PCP. Another thing DXM CANNOT BE SMOKED. DXM WHEN SMOKED TURNS INTO DXO AND WILL KILL YOU INSTANTLY. follow my words of advice and you will be ok.

I have always done DXM with cannbis as well, either smoking a few bowls before i take it, after i take it or while comming up.
While it is true that DXM cannot be smoked it doesn't have anything to do with it changing to DXO, DXM is metabolized into DXO in your body anyways. The MSDS states that combustion will result in carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen bromide gas and nitrogen oxides...none of which you want to inhale.

You can smoke DXM, however, it is very harsh and it needs to be in a freebase form...and the temp needed is very high. Most people find that smoking it just isn't worth it. It won't kill you, however.

DXM metabolizes into DXO. DXO acts on the NDMA recepter while DXM acts on the sigma receptor and the PCP2 receptor. The dissociation and stoning comes from the DXO and the general 'psychosis-like' part of the trip comes from the DXM. If you redose DXM over the trip, it leads into the 'sigma trip' which is basically a temporary psychosis. I don't really have the balls or interest to try this, but I know someone who has...but doesn't remember most of it. :-\

Pot is wonderful on DXM. It creates a more intense dissociation and more vivid OEV and CEV.

Coffee or caffeine, I've never noticed effecting my trip.

Cigarettes act like a very very very minor SSRI (that won't harm you...besides the smoke) but, in my opinion, adds to the body buzzing a little more. I usually can't finish a full cigarette because they make me feel nauseated on dex.

i smoked weed when ever i could when i tripped, its intense so i guess some people cant handle it but i loved it. and i smoke ciggarettes all the time it doesnt do anything to the trip it just makes me relax more.

and i dont see a real need for a trip sitter, i mean you feel fucked beyond belief but if you decide to jump out the window your just being a dumbass and deserve to die cause you can tell the difference between reality and fantasy even when on high doses of dxm.

I DO know what you mean by bad trips man. Omg, I took a high amount of Triple C (which contains alot of DXM, I took 16 pills) and started TRIPPIN THE FUCK OUT. Whoa, AND I was alone upstairs in my bedroom. I first took like 10, that was fine then I was like "Wait, they're not working yet, I'll take 4 more to speed it up" then after that I took 2 more! And then I was like "ahaha...it's kicking in" thinking I was goona have a nice little experience then I went and layed down. I went to get up and all of a sudden that shit hit me like a ton of bricks. I ran to the bathroom and threw up like 3 times. My front door was open downstairs and I heard the phone ring like 3 times also. My ex-girlfriend had called to talk (we're still friends, never see each other that much though, just talk) and I guess she thought something was wrong cause like less than 10 minutes later I heard my door swing open and hit the wall and heard someone running up the steps. It was her, and she said "OMG!!!" and called 911. I was like, "No...n-no...I'll be fine" cause I knew that even though I was in bad shape as of that moment, it wasn't goona kill me. I knew better than that, I was just having a little bit of a bad trip, it was all good. I felt my stomach feel better after throwing up a little and layed down on the bathroom floor for a second, then tried to get up but couldn't. She started crying and I was like "I'm FINE I'm FINE". And the paramedics came and got me, found the pills, put me in the back of an ambulance and, as high as I was, I told them "I don't need to go! I'm fine damnit!" lol. But everybody was all scared and was like "Omg he tried to kill himself!" and only my current girlfriend knew the real reason why I took them because she used to pop pills (doesn't anymore though) and she knew it was so I could get high. She was like, "Sweetheart, don't worry alright? This will blow over and you'll be fine, don't listen to these people saying you tried to commit suicide". And I knew that, I wasn't trying to kill myself are you kidding? I love life, lol. So yeah, that was my bad trip...eh, not really bad I was talking to the docotrs and nurses in there like I had known them for 10 years ahaha, it was funny. And my vision looked cross-eyed almost the whole time I was in there so I probably looked real stupid. I couldn't piss either which sucked...eh what can ya do, ya know?

But can someone describe a bit of what a DMX or K high is actually like? Maybe I'm getting old, but I just don't know anyone who's actually done either of those.... What's it like emotionally, energy-wise, visually? Big euphoric waves like X or coke? Total brain-fuck like nitrous? Hallucinations? Waking dreams? What's all the fuss about? Any way to compare it to acid, real MDMA, speed, whatever? From these postings it sounds like a cough-syrup brain-slur combined with creepy speedy street acid...

When I did DXM (yesterday) I felt like I was awake in a dream. Apparently I collapsed multiple times, but only because I just couldn't move too well. I have hallucinations with my eyes closed, but I don't remember any with open eyes (I only took like 600mg). Also, my body felt oh so very heavy, but it didn't seem to take energy to move. *shrug* Never done X or Coke or anything else too bad, so sorry I can't give you a better comparison.

well first of all rastap....you can always read the tons of expierence reports for DXM on erowid...their are hundereds of them from all dose ranges. But I'll tell you how DXM affects me. Since its a dissicoative, not a psycedellic, its not really like LSD or mushrooms. Some people say is comparable to Ketamine, tho I've never done Special K so I cudnt tell you first hand. It does produce some psycedellic feeling things tho. On lower doses,(say 150-300mg range) its more like a drunk feeling that increases to a very stoned body feeling(not the same as pot, more like a drunken high, yet more clear headed that being drunk). Music sounds more distinct, sometimes you hear words in the songs that arn't their...I get alot of auditiory halucinations, like hearing my name called and stuff. My thoughts become more abstract and I tend to become very focused on single thoughts and then my thought will just jump around from one thing to another, also short term memory loss is sorta apparent, mainly beacuse you get distracted with what you are doing. As you get nearer to a 3rd plateau dose, (for me its about 450-600mg, im 135 lbs) you can start to get some 2-D like halucinations..not ususally full blown tho. I have a lot of "dream like expiereinces" where ill be just sitting their and find myself in a very real dream that seems like its really going on, only to snap back to reality. Also in the dark or in dim light I get alot of patten-like open eye visuals....still not really like LSD or mushrooms tho. When I hit the 3rd plateau...I will have out of body expiereinces where sometimes I can actaully leave my body and watch myself sitting their or w/e. Its a very dream like, yet not unreal feeling expiereice. Except from the nausa/dissiness that sorta comes and goes, its pretty euphoric to me once I peak. Just a very mellow, enjoyable trip. I dont ususally move around too much, but if you walk, you get the "robo-walk". Its exactly as the name sounds...jsut feeling like you were walking like a robot, sorta aimlessly. The come down isnt bad either. Well thats all I can think of at the moment, I hope that helps you out a little, like I said tho, check erowid.org and read their stuff. Peace, happy tripping.
