I have experimented with bho using different brands and devices and am wondering if any one actualy knows about butane gas or the chemicals we consume. Most posts I see use pvc or some plastic which I refuse because of impurities which could end up in the product. Basicaly what Iv found in forums and such is that folks are able to get themselves high and not die from short term use. Maybe somebody has put some oil through Chromatography tests or a canalytics test, I do not have the chemistry experience or knowledge. people who know should help other people out!

Hey i'm not sure about the tests you posted but when you make bho it all evaporates when you're heating it. If it didn't your oil would catch fire when you lit it.

Some butane has impurities like RONSON. Don't use this brand. The best brand to use is Colibri. Has no impurites at all.

Also, i use a glass turkey baster for my bho. Stainless steel and glass is pretty much the best thing you can use. I can't see how butane would strip anything from plastic though? Maybe if it was painted plastic.

Tank you for your efforts my friend. I would be very careful what I consume if i were you, im prety sure colibri uses a mix of propane, butane, and isobutane for more even burning, which is BAD, Use Vector, it is quintuple refined and is the cleanest available. Also, I use a steel turkey baster but am wondering where you found a glass one and what the largest u found was.

Plastics may be dissolved by nonpolar solvents- whether it appears that the thing has melted or not, it is possible, even probable, that you are leaching chems into your solvent if you run plastic.
Try copper or stainless tubing with end caps for your BHO extractor. You can make any size. If you know how to solder, all the better.

Nice, i'm gonna try the vector brand next time. For the glass, just search glass turkey baster in google. There are a lot of stores that have them. I think i got mine at bed bath and beyond.

I wouldn't use galvanized pipe. It produces one of the most deadly gases there is if burned, so I wouldn't want to run solvent through it. It may not leach anything but its not worth the risk.

Thanks Killer! I see there is a guy using stainless steel, food grade, I would think that,:D or glass would be the purest way to go. :rasta:
