Man oh man, my thoughts are with you as well, brother. My seventeen year old brother was diagnosed with brain cancer this past year during his senior year, so I can definitely empathize with you. Good luck, and if you ever need encouragement you can message me and I'll tell you what I would tell my brother sometimes before chemo...."GET READY TO FUCK CANCER UP!"

How does a 17 year old get cancer? I know Rebgirl had a form of cancer as well and she's also pretty young.....

My heartfelt sympathy to your brother and your family.

Even young children, 5 or 6 years old, sometimes get it. A friend of my friends had his little boy die of at the age of 4 or 5. Just more of God's mysterious love you know.

Yeah, good question. And Gandalf's probably right, something to do with not enough faith or vitamins or something. But he's actually been cancer free for about 8 months now. Good luck man.

I wasn't 17 when I was diagnosed. I was 13.

And storm, if you could find me an article about hodgkins lymphoma I would be thrilled :)

Possible risk of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis with marijuana use during chemotherapy for small cell lung cancer.
Sutton S, Lum BL, Torti FM.

Bacterial and fungal contaminants have been identified in marijuana samples and thus are a potential risk factor in the immunocompromised patient using it as an antiemetic. We describe the development of an invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in a patient using illicitly obtained marijuana as an antiemetic during combination antitumor therapy for small cell lung cancer. Although this patient had multiple risk factors implicated in the development of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, the infectious potential of inhaled marijuana must be recognized. Further study of this potential health risk in needed.
