Mother in Law

So I am using the rubbermaid grow box in my closet in my aprtment. My mother in law is going to be staying with us for 2 days. And she will be sleeping in the room with the box. When the box is pluged in the closet it glows with light (i leave the lid cracked for air and heat). I have my lights come on at 5pm and off at 5am. I am just using CFLS but I have over 12,000 lum.
So my qestion is when she is with us can i just use one or two cfls so i can shut the lid tottaly and no light will show through. But they will still be getting light to keep them flowering (they are one week into flower). Will this stress the plants? or is it like having some overcast days?

And second -I am going on vacation in two weeks, can i do the same thing when i am away? I will ge gone for one week and I dont have anyone that could come by and check up on everything. And I dont want to worry about my place catching on fire. ( i dont think it will but it would be in my head the whole time) And with it being one week will that case stress or anything bad?

does your inlaw know about the grow? would she care? i would imagine that she is likely going to open the closet in her room... for just the two days, i would think you'll be ok. i asked a similar question recently and near as i can tell it would be like a cloudy day. just don't change the timing...

with regards to being an entire week, idk it seems a little risky to me, you might want to just leave all the lights on and have the door open so air can move freely.

Assuming you have everything wired correctly, the cfls are not going to get hot enough to light anything on fire esp just plastic. before you leave i would give the girls a good healthy watering, and plenty of light. you'll just have to fight your mind about your place catching fire, nothing caught fire when you were veggin, and now the lights are on for less time. i think you should be good.

My mother in Law would kick my ass if she knew what I was doing. It is not an extra bed room. I would just let the wife and her mom have the bed room and I would take the couch. ( unless her mom asked me to stay in the bed with them ;), she is a MILF).

So I know this forum is about lighting but with the water when i am out of town, should i just water as much as the pot and the plastic thing that holds water all the way up? It might be a little dry when i get home but i only water every 3 to 4 days.
