ok so please hear me out as i have legitimate questions that i couldnt find the answers to easily through my own research
I was initially caught with marijuana in my possession in january of this year. for some great reason they waited almost 4 months to tell me that they were going to actually do something and the way i foudn this out was via a letter informing me of a warrant for my arrest. i served the warrant extremely quickly and turned myself in. that was in april. i had court on that very day and was put on the 7411 diversion program
i followed the program just dandy. pissed clean, contacted my P.O. regularly. all that good stuff. then in july he asked me to drop and i didnt have the money so like a giant idiot i didnt drop. dont call me dumb. i already know i am. i continued to be negligent and then 2 months later i got a paper saying i had court on the 9th of october
my violations were for missing 2 drop dates, not paying my fines, not doing my community service and not taking a drug abuse evaluation
since i got that paper i payed the fees, will have my CS done by the 9th and also will have the evaluation done by the 9th.
my main question is what the hell is gonna happen to me on my court date?? my parents offered to pay for a lawyer this time and to be honest i dont even know if hes gonna help
can anyone tell me what im in for? extended probation? revoked license?
will it help that since my first court hearing i have cut my hair, gotten a job, gotten my own apartment and will be able to piss clean on the court date?
thanks a lot

bigwilly, I won't pretend to know anything about the law, but your story is compelling and I snoopy! Anyway, what I would say is: If I were a juror and your case were in court, I'd feel sympathy for you and let it slide easy. But, law and compassion are 2 different things. Good luck, the answers from the legal eagles should be interesting! pr

It's going to be the judge's call and like you can figure out, the judge will look at everything you have completed and haven't completed. Paying the fines is a big thing as the court/government want their money. They will listen to the advice of the PO but can do whatever they want. The other crap usually have similar importance unless the missed drug tests had been failures. Telling the judge you had money problems but now your good and you are showing that by having the fines paid and whatever has a good shot.
How many drug tests did you take?
How long is your probation?
Again, each judge and jurisdiction is different so you may want to find out by talking to a lawyer how strict they are. He can give you some idea. Of course call more than 1 so you don't get one that just wants your money. An initial phone consult should be free if not call someone else. If things look grim, getting a lawyer would certainly help but I don't think you're going to need one. A few phone calls wouldn't hurt.
If your probation is for a year, I would guess that the judge wouldn't violate and let you continue. If it was supposed to end soon I would say it might get extended. I doubt the judge would convict you on the original sentence for this but you never know.

Bigwilly88 you don't say where you are from which makes answering your question with accuracy impossible. However, I live in the state of Iowa, USA. The Land Of The Free (unless your ill :(.) i.e. Medical Marijuana or even schwag within the borders of the state of Iowa has the same effect on the human body as heroin. This oddity seems, according to our Politicians (but not the people,) to hold true only within the boundaries of the state of Iowa. In other states marijuana is just, well, marijuana. But my experience in dealing with government is that, even though you are late, in completeing all requirements and paying all fines, you are showing your government that yes, you are and will be a 'good boy.' :giggity: They like that, it makes them feel like their laws are working and they are successful in their behavior modification :giggity:, through threat of/or prison, possession of property and fines, in molding the people into what they want them to be like and hold to the same values and morals:giggity::giggity: as the government (no matter how misguided the gov't may be.) Even in this methane (from pig shit) producing state of Iowa, USA, your first marijuana arrest is a misdeameanor. Which means "Go West Young (in my case OLD) Man." I think you will be surprised at how happy they are to see you playing ball and by their rules. Which we all know Mother...oops! I mean Government Knows Best. Sounds a bit like a Communist Government don't it :giggity::giggity::bigsmoke::bigsmoke: Peace and smoke up when your off probation and get the hell out of Dodge before your second offense which could, and does in Iowa, mean prison time and the loss of your sphincter virginity :giggity:.

to FBR: i really appreciate your straightforward reply. i had a real lax setup (which makes me feel even more stupid for messing up) so i had only dropped about twice and my probation was supposed to end approx. at the end of September. and actually the reason im still up is cause at about 8 this morning im contacting a fairly respected lawer who told me to get ahold of him as soon as they opened so he could have as much time as possible before the 9th to do his work
to eltone: im from michigan, currently being processed in the kalamazoo court system.
again thanks for your replies guys
anyone who experienced this situation firsthand? had a friend who did? im scared as a bitch and i miss my herb so if you have words of comfort those are nice, but dont lie. if im about to get raped by the courts, id rather know so i can be prepared
the only way i rest well at night during these times is knowing that those who perpetuate this system even though they know the herb is good will face the consequences of their actions in this life or the next
(edit) oh and p.s. the missed drop dates weren't fails. i havent failed for this guy one time yet. they were all subs, so i would have, but as the record shows i have no fails
