Reputation system peculiarity

I can't seem to rep anyone who I have ever repped previously. It keeps popping up the message of needing to spread more rep around before giving it to _____ again. Is it set REALLY high, such as needing to rep more than 10 different people before going back to another or something? Because I must have gone through about 7-8 different people in between and now I can't seem to rep people who have been very helpful. :wtf::confused:

Any word on what's happening?

There's a lot of THC in the system here. Just go with the flow. Rep when you can...(based on your impression at the time)....or smile and reply, one. :)

Rep has always been a sort of mystery, having said that it's nice to get it now and again, I think the reason behind not being able to rep the same person too soon is that a "mutual appreciation" scenario could develop and inside a few days you could give each other enough rep to have the wee green dots go off the end of the screen.
I don't know if there is an explanation as to how much you must spread around before giving it to the same person again, I have had the situation a couple of times where I thought someone deserved it again but alas no joy the little box appeared and said no no.
Even if a figure was mentioned as to how much had to be spread I doubt I would dish it out willy nilly just so that I could give it twice to someone.
Best just to accept it is the way it is and if you really need to acknowledge someone has made a good post or whatever you can always tell them in the thread if that makes sense.

If someone makes me laugh, makes me cry, makes me think or just moves me emotionally in any way--I rep um! Why, because I don't think you have to be a genius or make a new wheel to be appreciated and it is my way of showing appreciation.

Some days, nothing seems to move me and others, I can't stop laughing or something and the reps fly! I can say I don't agree with someone and still respect them for other comments, so I won't waste it for a bad rep, unless I highly suspect the thread or post will disappear!

I can see, 'spread the love'; It is hard when the most prolific can only be rep'd once. But, it seems like it should be per thread instead of person. Yet, I think it goes by post instead of thread.

I just feel warm and fuzzy when I rep someone. Mostly, cause I can and I appreciate that person's value's! PR :thumbsup:
