Hi, I have been taking concerta for my ADD/ADHD, i was put on the pills when i was in 6th grade, but im certian i have had ADD since i was little. I have always gotten bad grades, and got pulled out of classes to go to "learning centers" to get 1 on 1 learning. And am now a JR in highschool, when i take the pills i will sometimes get headaches. The pills also give me a loss of appetite and make me sleepy, almost everyday after school i would go home and sleep for a few hours. Some people would say concerta/ritalin/methalphenadate would turn them into "zombies", and its true!

When i smoke marijuana it calms me and helps me focus, i have even smoked before doing some of my homework, and i will just read away and do my work.

Im 16, and live in california, would i be able to get a medical marijuana card for my ADD/ADHD? My parents probably wouldnt approve of it so i would have to wait till im 18 im guessing.

thanks

A parent is there and signs too. Wish I had better news for you.

You might try clicking the link and doing some print ups of the studies on ADD/ADHD. You can use them as talking point to your parents. I wish you all the luck in the world!

I work in education, and a few years back, this one ADHD kid was failing 7th grade- badly. He started coming in reeking of pot a couple days a week......and started doing his work! The teacher and I just looked toward heaven, shook our heads, and ignored the obvious. He passed by the skin of his teeth!

Maybe if i go to my parents with a lot of good facts showing how cannabis can help me do my school work better they might consider it. My older brother use to have his medical cannabis card, but it is not valid anymore. My parents didn't like him smoking weed but they didn't do much about it because he was 18 at the time.
