Hey all,
I'm new here and am working with a friend to set up a grow at his place. I have grown a few crops before but they were 5 or 6 plants, seed to flower, at a time. Nothing complex.
I have looked at the place available and the only viable option is the attic. I know temps are really hard in an attic but it is what it is and it's the ONLY option.
My plan is to enclose two 4' x 4' rooms with a 6' height. The first room (veg) will be powered by two 4' florescent fixtures for a total of four bulbs. Standard shop lights available everywhere. This room will be exhausted by two 4" 175 cfm inline fans. One intake and one exhaust. The room will house two or three mothers and the clones. I will scrog the mothers in large soil pots and root cuttings hydroponically. I am looking at
42 Site Cloning System (http://www.hydroponics.net/i/131662)
for a cloning system. Anyone have any input on that system?
Hopefully the two floro fixtures will be enough to start with for the veg room.
The flowering room will be powered by a 400w HPS. I have not worked with hydroponics before but think that this guy really needs to go with SOG. I am planning on setting him up with an ebb n flo system that should hold 16 flowering plants in a 4' x 4' (one per square foot). We havent purchased anything for the ventilation for this room yet so that's still open. Im leaning towards two of these
Eclipse Fan 6" / 630 CFM (http://www.hydroponics.net/i/131194)
I would really love to have an air cooled bulb but we have to work within a budget so I think we will be able to get by with the standard 400w HPS that we already have and two vent fans.
I have never worked with hydroponics before but, from what I have read, it seems cheaper to build your own ebb n flo then to buy a pre built system. This is the route we are going with.
I haven't went into very much detail but please assume that all walls will be lined with mylar and the other basics will be taken care of. I also have a co2 tank system that I paid $200 for but haven't really found it to be very beneficial. I think I need a climate controller to fully utilize the system and for now we dont have one.
Some questions:
Is this too much, too soon for someone that has never worked with hydro before?
Will we be able to fill the flowering room with cuttings every two months with three mothers?
Anyway to use the CO2 that we have without a climate controller?
Any major flaws that stand out that I may not have thought of?
Ive been looking into the best strains for SOG but I may as well ask input here too. lol
Basically if anyone has some input for me it would be appreciated.
The reason for my post is because I would like to invite some input from the more experienced in the begining stages before mistakes are made.
Thanks all
