Brown/Yellow crunchy leaves. Spreading!

Okay. Here is the form:

E-indoor
E-soil
E- potting soil/perlite mix pre-nuted/ferted (i know, i know...)
E- Runoff ph was around 7 (has fluctuated a lot)
E-tap water left out, then distilled, the bottled water (big mistake), and back to distilled for one watering
E-ph for tap was 7.3-5, distilled was 6.0-5, bottled water over 7.
E-Plant is 21 days old
E-no ferts used except what was already in the soil
E-haven't added any nutes/fert
E-1 42 watt cfl, 2 23 watt cfls. 2-3 inches away
E-indoor temp averages 68-74 degrees
E-Humidity - no idea, for air I have a fan blowing on the plant.
E-Lighting schedule - 24 on for veg
E-Type of ventilation your room has - it's wide open right now.


I am just not sure what to do with this plant. I am afraid to flush because of the pre-ferted soil. Plus I watered it pretty good with the distilled water once I discovered how crazy high the ph was on the bottled water. I assumed WAY wrong that is was close to or the same as distilled water's ph.

My plant was doing great, and then I watered with the bottled water and all went downhill. I am attaching pics of the beginning of the discoloration and some current photos. My roomate burned one of the leaves to by knocking the light and not noticing it. So, I know the source of the big brown burn. It's all of the other coloring that's got me worried. Any help would be great.

No bottled or distilled water, just use the tap water. Next time the pots feel light, do a good flush with tap water and adjust the pH so that the runoff comes out at 6.7.
Then water immediately with a GROW fert at 1/4 strength in 6.7 tap water.
Is that a coco-based medium or what brand? It does look like you could have a calcium problem, which would be caused by either too much distilled water or coco in the soil or both. If you have CalMag plus, add that to your feeding for now. If not, scratch just a couple pinches of lime into the soil surface. You don't need much, but you do need SOME source of Calcium.

Thanks Stinky! I was hoping you would read my post.

There is no coco in the mix that I remember. I tossed the bag like a fool.

I haven't been using any extra ferts for now, so what Grow fert would you recommend? And, in your opinion, am I wasting my time? Can my plant recover from the damage and stress I put it through so far??? Thanks.

That plant looks real short, like the lights are too close. That one leaf that is spotted with brown color looks like heat damage. But you say you're using CFL, so I'm going to guess that not only are the lights too close but the 74 degree temp is a little to hot. I suspect it's the two together that are doing this to your plant. Raise the lights a little, like up to 10 inches off the top of the plant.

For fertilizer, just get some Foxfarm Fruit and Flower powdered fert at your grow store and put two cups of it in a five gallon container of potting soil and mix well, then put your plants in that and just water them when their thirsty. That will solve 99% percent of your feeding issues.
