I am not sure we can just blame the Chinese, questionable parentage or otherwise. There is a surprising amount of counterfeiting goes on in the UK as well.
For everyone who thinks counterfeit goods are a bad thing there are a hundred others who are quite prepared to buy them, that's why these people of questionable parentage manage to stay in business.
