And I wish you all the luck in the world! It isn't perfect here, but it's the best that I know of! I hope all of you can soon enjoy the same freedom to medicate that I, and thousands of other Californians, have!
Keep in frequent and polite contact with your local politicians, so you can, hopefully, tell them what will be needed to be written into the new laws! Be sure to have job protection! And when it come to plant limits, have them watch about Rick Simpson's oil! It takes a 5 gallon bucketful of bud to make it! Doctors will need protection, as will dispensaries and caretaker/suppliers. Look where California is having troubles, and learn from it.
Please feel free to make use of my list (link below) as a "pretty good reason" to legalize MMJ. I think anyone who reads even just the titles will be totally convinced by page 10 -yeah, it's rather long- 60+ pages. Take a look. All of the links were live as of 7/08.

Good luck with that especially since your state does not have an initiative referendum process.:wtf:

You'll need to start a direct initiative and collect signatures from registered voters. I forget how many you need but its something like 40% of the number of people who voted last election. Up north in Michigan we collected signatures for a year+ and after getting more than enough signatures the law goes to vote this november and is gonna pass with flying colors.

you could get every single registered voter o sign and it would not matter, Indiana does not allow voter initiative at the state level, only legislaters can introduce laws at the state level. hello?

Well that is just criminal. Hardly call that democracy.

Well, you are right, it's not democracy. Our federal government was not established as a democracy. It is a constitutional (or was) republic, and that was supposed to be the model for the states as well. The model that Indiana in fact follows. So the only people that can introduce legislation are representatives and senators. That is the way a representative republic works actually, it's hardly criminal.
A democracy is not an ideal form of government, our founding fathers knew this thus the reason federally, and in many states, we use the representative republic model, so far it has proven to be the best form of government.
So again, unless the OP is a state senator or representative, you will not be introducing any state wide referendums any time soon. Sorry.

I changed instead of signatures yet I am going on the educating our people first as well as senators etc... Got one senator who is emailing me everyday and I am giving him videos and medical journal links for him to read, he was against it, but open for my opinion and now I think he may be leaning towards the medical cannabis! Ill post the emails once I get them organized and get more of them.
