We are setting up a new ASA chapter in Honolulu to better represent the medical marijuana patients on Oahu and throughout the state.

If you are a Medical Marijuana patient, or a supporter of Medical Marijuana and live on the island of Oahu, please consider joining the ASA. We desperately need an active ASA chapter on Oahu where the legislators and governor are located. The chapter on the big island has been doing great work over there to get laws changed for their residents, now its time for us on Oahu to step up to the plate and do our part.

We have been in contact with Representative Say, and other legislators and are trying to convince them to support HB2674 and other legislation which would change the wording of the current Medical Marijuana law and finally allow patients to truly keep an "adequate supply" of medicine on hand for their treatments. Along with educating them with factual information concerning Medical Marijuana.

If we are going to be successful in changing the Medical Marijuana law in Hawaii, we are going to have to stand together and stop letting the big island do it for us. Its time for us to do something to help.

If you want to see positive changes to the Hawaii Medical Marijuana Law, then please join the ASA and become involved. We need your help.

There was a chapter being started up in Hauula, but unfortunately the organizer for that chapter does not have the time needed now to continue getting it set up.

I was in the same position as you are, looking for a local chapter, trying to contact a local chapter to see what i could do to help, etc., with no luck. I spoke with George over at the ASA Headquarters about the situation and explained my willingness to volunteer for whatever was needed, and my willingness to not hide the fact that I am a Medical Marijuana patient from the public and the church (I am also an Archbishop).

After a lengthy discussion, we decided to revamp, and start a new chapter for Oahu. Oahu is where everything needs to be done, this is where the capitol is located, so this is where the "public eye" of the government is at. Oahu is where we need to be more outspoken to reach the public as well as the legislators with education materials about Medical Marijuana.

The Federal Government has done a lot of harm in their cannabis spear campaign over the years to convince the public that there is no medical use for marijuana. Through education efforts we can change the publics inaccurate perception of Medical Marijuana and therefore get a stronger backing for legislative change.

In order for the Honolulu Chapter to become a full fledged active chapter, we need to have a minimum number of members, which we are working towards. We are trying to get the word out that there is a new chapter here, and get people to stop hiding in the closets.

The more members we have, the more we will be able to accomplish. The larger our group is, the more notice that the legislators will take of our cause. We have to show them that we are united for this cause, and that we vote for people who support our cause and against people who don't. this is how you get the attention of elected officials, who are deciding the future of Medical Marijuana.

Please spread the word about the new chapter to anyone that you know that is either a Medical Marijuana patient, or a supporter of Medical Marijuana. We need as many members as we can get. Not all of the members will want to be as public as I have chosen to be, which is fine, wether they are out in the public or working behind the scenes, we still need them all. Remember, the more members we can get means the more that we can get accomplished.

We can use all the help we can get. Unfortunately I end up doing a lot of the "office work" myself, when I can squeeze the time out of my schedule, lol.

I'm applying for a lot of jobs on the big island and hopefully when I get there I will be free to grow my own or even open a dispensary. Could you explain to us why people say the big island is the most progressive and what limitations there are on dispensary or grow limits compared to the other lslands? Can I open a dispensary there without fear of being raided or shut down?
