Any other indoor growers use this tier style when they transplant???

I call it "Pro-Mix wedding cake" because the tiers remind me of a wedding cake...I always figured it was a good way to transplant because it gives the roots more RTG(room to grow)...I talked about it with the breeder of CH9Seeds and he seemed to think it also gives the roots more oxygen...

This style seems to give a pretty good yeild...:420thought:

The oly thing missing is Miss Monroe popping out the top, but a healthy pot plant is an acceptable replacement ;)

That is also known as 'elevated transplanting', and my hero the BOG was a great proponent of it as well. It's great as long as your plant is supporting itself, or if you stake it for stability.

I did a little homework on the bog...Turns out I was on the same site as him at my old home and didn't even know who he was,(i've been on cannabis sites for less than 2 years)...He kept a pretty low profile and I figured he was just another grower with a really cool name...

I just ordered his book "Bonanza Of Green"...

that's pretty cool how do you keep all the roots together in the soil when u transplant?

I made a mistake when I started my grow and planted two seeds per 5 gallon bucket and couldn't get more buckets and soil in time and just moved them and I tried to preserve as much roots as possible but they were all growing together with the plant beside them and I definitely know I did some damage :sadcrying

they seem like they made it "ok" and I preserved all the roots that were going down I just really know I messed up by letting they grow that big in the same pot

You could take a look at my thread if you would =D it's called attempting indoor grow (input please) I would greatly appreciate any advice :rasta:

Hey there nick,
I like to water or feed the day before a transplant...I makes the soil or grow medium just right for transplant IMO...I only grow one plant per pot...Guess you'll do the same from now on if you want to transplant...

I've decided to turn this into a BOG thread...Recently read a book by him called "Bonanza Of Green",(thanks stinky)...This is not a coffee table book,lol,but chuck full of excellent grow instructions from a master grower and breeder who I wish I would of said hello to when I had the chance...
Here's a transplant I did this morning from a plastic cup to a 1.5 quart pot...The strain is Jack47(fem) and the plants are 13th day veg...

what if the plant is rootbound with roots exposed on the outside of the rootball ...is it still ok to stack ? Should I cover lightly with soil. What would u suggest?

It's more than OK,it's omnipotent!!!The amount of roots exposed to light is a small %...Don't worry about covering up...I love letting a plant get root-locked,transplanting it ,and then letting it run!!!I'm babying this grow right now...You'll see an example of exposed side roots on my next transplant with this grow when I go from 1.5qt to 2 gallon pots...
Will flower with a 2 gallon to 5 gallon transplant...Give a look if you get a chance man...:420thought:

This is an awesome method. I am going to try this for sure on my next grow. Your yields seem to be pretty impressive so I would like to try it. Thanks for the post!
