Hmmm... would a global financial collapse be the great equalizer of humanity? The people currently considered wealthy would be just a vulnerable as the people currently considered poor. They'd just have nicer stuff (and more of it) they'd have to defend and barter with. But if the standard of value changed (intrinsic vs. extrinsic) who's going to need or want jewelry and yachts and designer stuff? Just a thought. ;)

I'm personally working to go back to the barter system and remove monetary exchange completely from my life. I know it will be difficult but the only things I can't figure out how to barter for is insurance coverage, health care, and cable/internet service (unless I barter for it with someone else who uses currency exchange to pay for it). I can always go off grid for my electric and phone access can be gained through the internet (once I figure out how to barter for that), although I hate the phone. :mad: Love web cams and online meetings though. :) Living in the right place can make bartering for food much easier but not prepared foods. :( Oh how I'll miss their chemically manipulated unnatural taste and texture. And then after a while, I won't.
Bartering for travel will be difficult as well, as hitchhiking is now illegal. I'm sure I'll find some way to get where I'm going. :jointsmile:

Other than that I can't think of anything else that can't be bartered for. Of course you'd have to find someone willing to barter with you. I suspect currently being the right place at the right time is all it would take. I believe the time is coming soon that the right places and times will be many. Good luck to us all in the years to come. Who knows what will happen next. :hippy:

but u must know, these are kinda bootlegg videos recorded by people from TV n stuff... so u see why there is no hearing aid for it, but I guess there are programs out there that can translate audio into text, i mean at least i expect that technology to exist by now since many TVs have it... will look into it for ya 4sure and post back if i found somethin.

anyways, i figured Youtube has indeed added a close captioning option since late Aug 2008, but it's not an automatic system and uploader/creator of the video has to use the option given and provide the text using a software.

I'm 100% sure there are programs out there called "speech recognition" softwares

One famous one is called "Dragon Naturally Speaking"

I also found a different kind of tube made exclusively for deaf people called sign tube, but its not anywhere near youtube in means of content at all.

I tried looking up the transcript of this video as well without any luck. u can find the original content creator if u go to the main youtube link. its listed to the right under upload date, maybe u can find the text upon more searching there.

btw the audio on many youtube videos is just of low quality (same as the video)

all that's known is that close captioning on youtube is just about 1 month old feature and i naturally expect it to be used far more in future uploads.

Well, I leave my PC online and connected to the site. Then when I get bored doing other shit I will come back and surf a little, then return to whatever I was doing. Tonight all I did really was watch the debates.

I also average between 4 and 6 hours of sleep a night.

I'm an insomniac, and one of the reasons I get high is because it helps me sleep.

Been dry for awhile now, though. :(

Pot helps, hell, it even regulates my patterns! when i had a constant supply for a while there, i was waking up at 3:00-8:00 am on average!! every day too! well, also i had a job, which helpped, but the pot helpped me sleep regularly so i was awake in time for work :stoned:


got my 12 hours today... just woke up :D so now you know when i went to bed last night :thumbsup:
