My new pipe :D .

Hey guys. For my birthday on Sunday I recieved a new pipe from my brother. Since then I've used it quite a bit, but when I got it, it was all clear with a yellow tint like the chamber just before the mouthpiece. It's glass, I've wanted one for a long time, let me know what you think of it guys. It's a 50$ pipe. But money means nothing.

Nice piece. Glass bowls are definitely the way to go for toking. They give you the full flavor of the weed and are incredibly convenient, perhaps the easiest possible way of consuming marijuana. Trust me, you will form a close relationship with your bowl. I've had mine for over a year and it is no doubt one of my most prized possessions.

Yeah both of them are nice. I had a crazy one back in the day. It was orange and had crazy tiger like stripes and the orange changed green. It was a sick pipe but my friends mom found it one night after a party and threw it out. But thats life right?

cool pipe...but dude 50 bucks? i can get a pipe like that for like 20 bucks or less cuz heres mine and i got it for 11 was suppose to be 14 tho, i mean shit for 50 bucks you could get a bong cuz looks heres mine and i got it for 54, ya where u live maybe prices just diff

Yean, the pipe is not a $50 pipe, but it is your first (i am assuming) and you will be very bummed out when it is gone. Mine first was stolen out of my car, along with my weed, CD's, stereo, and radar detector. All of that stuff was replaced, but i will never have a same pipe. Those dudes made out. Don't drop it on anything hard, like concrete or tile.

awsome peice. Glass pipes rock... i just recently got my first glass bong the other day... now that thing im in love with. I dunno here in canada pipes are 30 bucks plus... and cheapest bongs seem to be around 70 plus for glass... not cheap by any means.

The reason some glass pipes change color is because the artist fumes precious metals to the interior of the glass before throwing it in the kiln. Different metals make different colors, and combinations of gold and silver can make colors ranging form white to blue to orange to green and everything in between. The colors show up as the inside of your pipe gets coated with resin. Boiling your pipes or cleaning them however will remove the color, but should not affect its color changing properties unless you use an exceptionally abrasive cleaning technique.

That is why glass pipes can be so expensive, there can often be 6-10 hours of work in a 5 inch spoon. But you can tell quality pieces from junk by the amount of work on the pipe (inside-out work, creative colors, exterior canwork, etc.) and the weight of the glass (heavier means more glass means harder to break). To check if your pipe will change color, place it against any black background (e.g. the sleeve of a black hoodie ;) ) you will get an idea of the colors that will come with time. Any head shop worth its two cents will have a piece of black cloth, often a velvet pad, to inspect pieces on.

Btw, nice piece, just keep an eye on that skinny part in the neck, it'll clog on ya ;)

Doesn't look like it; usually there is a little bumb where the hole is either at the tip of the bowl or one of the sides.

Whenever I get a new one I always swear nothing but nice will burn in it... until I run out, then for some reason or another (nothing else is handy, or stranded somewhere w/it) I always end up polluting it w/ratwd.
