If I put my soil in the ground 1/2 a year before I plant, will the soil be depleted of.. well whatever desireable qualities the soil has over just dirt from the ground? Would sticking a tarp and than burying it over the grow location preserve the soil better, or is it best to just bring the soil in a few weeks before planting. Let me know!!

When researching the boards I have found this thread basically same question as mine, however not anwsered. Will the tarp idea work, is there anything that will be a negative effect about putting the tarp over? Lastly, will this preserve the nutrients of soil and protect them from draining out with the constant rain we get here in Washington State?
