I'm sure it's gonna be fine but keep a close eye on the plants when you take the hydro hut above 77F. Some of them (like mine) emits poison gas and kills plants in a few days. There was a general recall but still bad ones are sold at times. In my log you can see some info about that.
Lets hope you'll b fine and good luck with your grow man.

alrite, so the seeds have been germinating i have 3 white widow seeds, and 5 purplewidows. So far only 2 white widow seeds have popped and are ready to plant which kind of sucks...but what can i do...

hey puffzter, man thanks for the advice! i think i got lucky with my hydrohut cause i have reached high temps due to some1 unplugging my fan but the plant servived. Im just browsed through your grow log and im very impressed, im actually considering on skipping the scrog and just following your log. But great job on that grow man.

im germinating the seeds today. so ill have an update once they are in soil

Glad to hear that you seem to have gotten a good hut also.
I did some mistaces early on in the stretch period of my grow not apreciationg the fury with which my widows were to reach for the roof. So if you apply my log to your grow be aware of that and take control of the plants as soon as you see it might get out of hand so you can make sure the canopy remains as flat as possible.
Apart from that it has gone well and I am sure you will do just fine as well whatever methods you end up using.

hey everyone so I came across a little concern. I have 5 plants that finally came up and what I noticed on two is the top of the soil looks like it's growing something that looks like algea. It's green and on top of the soil. Rite now I have 2 125 watt cfl running 247 and a little fan blowing to gt air circulated. I'll post pix when I get home but anyone have idea whatit could be?

Probably just algae, and nothing to worry about. Once they start getting big fan leaves, the algae should go away.

dun really mind the slow groth since there going to be lsted and scroged anyways but wow. its is my second grow by the way!

looks like they are getting a little stretched i would move closer to the cfls like 2 1/2 inches or 3 inches

awsome thx for the tip, im just scared that the plant is gunna grow into the bulb since the plants are at a differnt house that i stay at. But another thing is when is it a good time to turn on my MH

Yeah you need to keep the light as close as possible without burning them. I don't know how often you tend to them so you have to find a range that is good for you. As close as possible but not so close that they will burn before you get back to them the next time.
It will make a huge difference on plant growth and eliminate a lot of the stretching for sure.
Think about the fact that light degrades 4 times for every time you double the range to the source. So, to move the light just slightly closer often give your plants double the amount of lumens as they recieved before.

wats up canna.com so today i put my my MH and can fan so lighting and ventilation is just about perfect. that mh can get pretty freakin hot! i have the mh about 2-3 inchines away from my plants i put my hand under the light to make sure its bearable. i started lst on 2 plants but i believe the pots i have em in are too skinny any suggestions for this situation? i bent the plant over and the leaves are like hanging off to the side. i have 3 gal pots waiting for their transplant. everything is goin great soo far i fed them for the first time with 1/4 streng nutes. So we will see how everything goes!

ok, so i just checked the temps again and its reaching 88*....not what i expected. so this temp issue might be a problem for me.

is that a aircooled hood? with that amount of wattage you almost need one in that little of a space unless you have really good intakes and exhaust.... are you running passive intakes or fan intakes? im not sure i would put a 400 watter that close to the plants ... i would put it at around one foot or maybe as close at 6 inches.... with my 600 watt in a air cooled hood i leave it at about 14 inches above the plants.... its different with cfls... u can almost grow the plant into the cfl without burning it

that fan has an opening that i stuck the passive fan through. by having the MH that can damage the plants? i might have to go back tomorrow and just rearrange everything. thx for the info though.

alrite i have a bit of an update.

So as of today i have 2 Trains left the rest of the plants just didnt grow for

some reason their PH runoff was perfectly fine i took them out and put them

unders cfls and still nothing. temps were about 80's and i even reduced their

nute intake. but nothing! the weird thing is there was no sign of damage or

anything leaves were super dark green in color. as of these trains there doin

awsome! on their 3rd week of nutes and i actually transplanted into hempy

buckets from another log that has inspired me:thumbsup::thumbsup:

awsome grow to killa! so i took those outa the soil their in and into some

perlite/vermiculite AKA: HemyGrow. when i transplanted em the plants took

a beating i felt bad cause what i heard was the sound of roots snapping. so i

thought uh o. game over for these guys, Infact 1 of the trains were just

droopy and look like an old granpa that forgot where his cane was...lol (i

can picture that in my head) but anyways. so that same night i decided to

germ 4 purplewidow seeds which i have 3/4 that are in their 1st week of

seedling stage.

the next day which is today i went to check on the 2 Trainwrecks i had and

they just blew up! like no other, i was really amazed i thought i was going to

toss em. Man those things are beautiful in their 3rd week of veg and i just

FIMed one Lst the other just wanna see which will grow better. No pics as of

now but giving an update on their status. i dont know what ima do about the

seedlings since the fox farm schedule said i should flip them in 2 weeks.

maybe ill veg them till the seedlings are ready? any opinions?

My setup
8 5500k cfls
all in hempy buckets
temps are about 70-73
as for my nutes im using FF 3rd week which is growbig, and big bloom

this happend as soon as i introduced my ac unit into the tent..spider mights?

Hey purp....sorry about the problems.....a few questions?

1. Are you running soil or hydro grow big?
2. What PH are u feeding at?

My suggestion is to use the hydro grow big.....i have both(hydro/soil) and it seemed that it takes too much ph down(toxic levels) to get the soil grow big down to 5.8 ph which is about where the hempys like there nuts....Also, id mix them spectrums of your lighting....I see you have 8-5500k......I personally run the daylight 6500k cfl/ soft white 2700k cfl....2:1 mixture! Any questions i can help with but i think spider mites look like little burned spots all over the leaves and not large spots like in your pics....but then again....i never had a problem with mites!

wats up killa, im using the grow big for soil use.and my ph is fine i checked the runoff and it was about 6.5 range i think i just fixed my problem. What i just did was turn the mh back on and got really good ventilation up im talkin ac to the tent! lol and the nasty air outa the room. so im excited to see wats going to happen ina week ill probably veg for 2 more weeks then put into flower mode!

id change to the hydro one soon.....trust me....you will see better results.....plus u wanna drop that ph into hydro range around 5.8-6.0 max.

I lost this thread for a while, but now that I'm back...SUBSCRIBED...

I want to grow that strain in hydro soooo bad, do you plan on fimming and LSTing the PW too... I'd like to try fimming then lsting all the tops... I lst'd for the first time on my last grow, and was impressed with the outcome, the one plant I lst'd looked like a miniature X mas tree lot, All I have experience with is basically bagseed & some PK clones...Well enough with my babbling...lol...

you just hyped my wait for the buds man! thanks for the input. heres an update i played a little with the plants and tied up the the fan leaves al little so it wouldnt shade the rest of the plant a little. wonder how thats gna work for me.

PurpWidow, looks good. I bought those same Trainwreck seeds, and sprouted a week before yours. I am curious if you have read some of the things they say about the GHS Trainwreck. Ms. StinkyAttic had some very negative things to say, like that it will hermie in late bloom almost every time. Unfortunately I already planted my seeds when I read that. Thought about getting the reverse stuff, but quite hard to find in Europe except in the U.K.

Also, which one is the Purp and which is the TW? Maybe a label would be nice, as I like would like to compare our grows. Thanks and keep up the good work! (If you are interesting in comparing, I have pics of my baby, will be updating pics tomorrow for the first week of bloom)

Thx killa! hopefully my outcome on the hempys will look like yours! there probably just shocked cause of the light change i went through, but i got them back on track, and they seem to be doin great. I love how Fimming promotes side growth like a fat boy, cant wait till i introduce the hps =]

sorry about the confusion about which plant is which but i ended up giving my purple widows away and just focusing on my trains for now. the purple widows im going to save for my hydro project! so those 2 plants i have pics of are TWs!

Hey Purp, I still have 4 of them, and now that I took a closer look, its almost as if the taproot is already coming out of them. On one side of each seed there is a distinct white line running along its side.

This is my first time ordering seeds, but i've never seen bagseed like that. I also didn't notice this until you mentioned it... strange... but from what my friends here tell me, GHS is very reliable, and I am a satisfied customer so far!

sorry to say but i never ordered the purple widow myself because everyone has problems with them, its the strain, probably not stable, im ordering TGA's querkle, jtr, jacks the cleaner, but they are looking great man ur the only person ive seen to grow the purple widow from shamaan seeds goodluck, i was only letting you kno becasue i see when they where seedlings they freaked out and grew weird

oh kack, rite now im only dealing with the TWs not the purplewidows. i gave those away. but another thing is ur rite about the "growing weird" cause they were all deformed leaves and everything so deff not a good seedling. But i have an update i switched to flower yesterday pretty happy so far.

I was looking into those seeds as well, online but never bought them...It was a strain that sounded killer. Hopefully someone else will get some going, I'd love to see what kind of yield and potency comes outta the PW...

I don't know a lot about the european seed vendors, but from researching it seems that GHS has many haters on the grow sites. They grow HTCC winners but their seeds...???

i herd these purple widow from shaaman, or however u spell it, hermie and turn male and the females if you get any will be deformed, they are fluke genetics , i was going to order the purple widow a year ago but i ended up going with bubblicious and ice from nirvana, good luck to you i hope you prove me wrong, but 5 threads i went to last year, everybody's grow logs where about the same, they where having the same problems, i guess its just not a stable hybrid, but good luck man, i hope u get some nice females cause i wanna see how this bud turns out
