So I got 4 seeds from neighbor girls b/f and 10 clones from a friend. Have done an indoor grow before (not high yield but made good brownies & Hash). I started indoors March and planted in ground mid march. Soil 4x3x3 area with worm castings, Pearlie, peat moss, used grow fert few months then sorta let mother nature tend to them. 2 of the seeds were male 1 has a hose accident the last seems to be Indica (I think) She is smaller no arms and further along then the clones. The Clones are 10 feet tall and just starting to show crystals. Like I said first time outdoor grow, I've learned a lot and have enjoyed reading and learning from you all. I have ordered seeds and am already planning my next years garden.

If anyone has an idea as to strain I'd love to know

It's a hybrid, looks mostly sativa.

I'm just guessing.

I believe I have 3 different strains. The smaller tight bud that is further along. the one with the red stems on the fan leaves. and the others

What you can do, better than anyone else on here(most likely) is to look at pictures of pure sativas and pure indicas and then decide which one does your plants look most like. :greenthumb:

For some interesting material, read about phenotypes and genotypes.

I would be but its 94 degrees and humid as hell, then I have mosquitows and ticks. Mosquitoes are the worst. I can only stand to battle the mosquitoes for about 5-10min before I'm forced to retreat.

you know I always say I'll put up with fires, earthquakes, and high prices in CA over tornadoes, hurricanes, humidity, floods ANY DAY

I was planning on going to Firefest in England (I am in the music industry) and make a side trip to Amsterdam the end of Oct. As with everyone else the economy has killed the dollar against the pound/euro so we decided to put it off a year. SO I had to order seeds, I've never done it so I learned what I could and took seasoned growers advice, ordered from Rhino Seeds (From what I have seen the peeps in N. CA have had no issues with them.
I've ordered: White Widow, Train Wreck, The Hog, and Arjan's Strawberry Haze. I wanted to try a Stevia, and an Indica and a blend I know the Trainwerck grows good in this climate and White Widow is always a favorite.

I am trying to decided where to grow next year. animals are a concern so that keeps me in my back yard. I have a 25x40 foot "garden area" on the top but it is slightly obvious to anyone in my back yard or in my house (not that I care) I can either use this area or plant along the fence line (most unobtrusive) I also have an option in a backfield, but I'm afraid that is too blatant to the planes over head)

I have been working the hell out of my own mulch pile for a year now and as soon as it rains and adds some moisture back into it I will really mix it. I plan to bring in most of it next spring (end winter). I'll start the seeds in jiffy pots again and move them to 5 gallon buckets when the weather has warmed and last chance of frost has passed. I like to cut the bottom off the buckets and drop them a 1/2 foot into the ground. I dig down knee high by 2 foot per bucket and fill the holes with Worm castings, perlite, peat moss, and mulch.

I'm just rambling, would love advice if you see something I am doing wrong or the hard way. Thank you SouthernGuerilla and hydrocannabis for you comment so far keep em coming and I'll keep updates as I get closer to harvest on the current crop.

Thanks,
Evil

looking good! that lineup you named of all the stains you ordered sounds like a great selection! i also recently ordered from Rhino Seeds, and received my Blueberry seeds by Dutch Passion in only 5 days, so their delivery to Northern California is very fast.

so when do you think you will begin harvesting?

GIANCA, It's your thread that brought me to this site. I was googling and fell into it, started looking around and decided to throw down some cyber roots. I have enjoyed reading your thread, but when I registered I couldn't find it again. Glad you found me. How's your grow, you get the camera back for more photos?

I believe the Indica (small tight bud ) should be ready in 2 weeks. I'll watch her daily to see when she stops growing and changing in a healthy way. The Sativas I think 4 more weeks. I am DYING to taste them... drying is going to kill me more tho, at least now I can watch them grow and change. once they are hanging I'm stuck, so I'm hoping that with the need seed coming and the mulch pile I can keep my self busy till they are ready.

hey. i'm glad to hear that my thread influenced your choice to share with us your lovely females.

i literally just got home from picking up a family member from the airport, who had the camera, so new pictures coming within the next couple hours.

the drying and curing process will be tough on all of us, haha. all that great bud, just sitting there, not being able to be smoked for that much longer!

what part of northern california are you in? just a vague location: bay area? redding? sacramento? nothing too specific

so make sure to stop by my thread in a bit to check out how they are doing after a week of no updates.

cant wait to see your harvest pics :hippy::hippy:

hey eve!
they're all still looking great from here!

i could be wrong, but it looks like you have some plants in different stages of flowering, like myself.

my oldest is around 5.5-6.5 weeks in, but one is about a week behind that, and another one a week behind the second one. i have 3 others that are somewhere within that 3 week span, so i'll be harvesting plants about a week apart, depending on how the trichomes are looking, and harvesting accordingly.

again, looking great!

long time...sorry been away...

I pulled Rob's Rod (as I call it) That was the one that grew with no arms just the stem. She is drying in the bedroom closet (smells so nice) but the big kids are still going. My cousin came over this weekend and told me a few things.. one they need to bulk up, I have lots of buds on top that are thick and lush but most my lower limbs are thinner buds. and also got the bad news I do have seeds :wtf: Since the girls were strong enough there are VERY few and will be easy to pop out during drying (not that I care it's my own shit I'll pick seeds) ANY HOW I think I got at least 2-3 weeks left. I do not think I am going to flush. I have talked to a few growers and it's 50/50 some do some don't. But I should start with the molasses this week (along with something to bulk them up). I'm getting edgy about the rain this weekend we are to get 2 inches with 30 mph wind. but it is going to heat right back up into the 80's. The plants are 15 feet tall and I can't stake them (the limbs) very well and I sure as hell can't cover them...

WHAT SHOULD I FEED EM TO FATTEN THEM UP?
and
HOW THE HELL DO I STAKE 15 FOOT PLANTS?
and
WTF DO I DO ABOUT THIS WEEKENDS RAIN?

when i hook back upto my external HD I'll post more photos

well rain has passed and this is the damage...
None of the stalks or limbs were bent so we tied them back up. This is a good thing because I was needing to tie the larger limbs seeing as when they fill out they would have bent any ways under the weight. I tipped a bud off each plant (I was reading other peoples grow logs and they've all started "sampling" their buds) I've got them in a paper bag on top a space heater (no it will not catch fire it's an oil heater) so I should be tasting later tonight or tomorrow...ooh hell both! I'll let you know how they taste!

ooh yeah, I'm going to move into the molasses and fresh water phase this week. Since I decided to go to England after all in 3 weeks I'm going to have to chop or pray they'll be ok for 4 nights without me. I wasn't planning on cutting till Halloween but I'll have to see how they grow between now and then

ahahah sick plants man those puppies are big eh! i grew a 16 footer with my cousin one yr but we started tieing it down around the 4 foot mark and by the end we had a good 2 pounds of dried bud from it , for next yr make sure you start tieing them down so all the little lower branches get sunlight and then they grow huge and up straight making one branck into 10 or so crowns and by doing this you get alot more bud from your plants even the top crown tie it down and you will see your crown get MASSIVE cause all the buds will turn up right and start to grow up wards and in the end your crown is just crazy so when ever your board just get some string and tie it down i swear you wont be disapionted at all

uummm huna? I'm lost, I've been tieing them UP so the limbs don't bend and break. should I change that? and do you have any photos of what it looks like. Issue I have is I planted TOO close together (I was trying to hide them) So I don't really have room to do that (grow and learn, next year). Do I want to tie it down at this stage? I was planning on harvesting in a few weeks. they still have some bulking up to do should I tie them down (oooh that sounds kinky) for the next 3 weeks? Thanks for the help! going to taste my snippets tonight!

EvilEves

so Ive been trimming and popping seeds for the last few hours. reminding myself "grow and learn", (fucking seeds). I still have yet to taste it, sorta wanted to share it with someone. Why is when you want a person to smoke with there isn't a soul to be found, but if you are on your last bowel a car load shows up! Any how I'm off to picking, trimming and popping.

Well I have been cutting an trimming a branch each night, rather than take the whole tree at once. just 2 this size took me and another person 2 hrs to trim and pick. I want to get a branch a night dome till I have to go out of country in case I get rain or something I can't control from over seas.
