Hey Guys, same stats as my last NYCD grow except these are 4 FIM'd Clones, each clones has 3-5 main colas. They are 4 Weeks into bloom. Still On T5 Lighting, however either 2morrow or Monday depending when i get my ballast cord, I will be blooming with a 250 watt HPS with homemade cool tube. Enjoy my Friends. I pray to Jah that one day we dont have to hide behind avatars. I would love to hang out with a lot of my CANCOM friends. Jah bless You in Ganja Name. :bigsmoke:

Ok, so im just minutes till morning for the plants and today will be the first day in aggressive bloom phase 1.


FYI i will be starting a second grow log for my seedlings as soon as they pass the seedling stage (i feel that seedlings are boring). From the Bud sample that i got from a dealer, I will be coining the name Blue Widow for the next grow log, due to it either being that or white berry, the buds more looked like the blue widow buds according to the cannabible (biggest run on sentence).
Next time i buy seeds i think im going to buy DNA genetics Connie Chung... Its LA confidential x G13. Ive been wanting to grow a G13 strain for a long time now. and I cant find much info on this plant and i want to grow log it for the world :jointsmile:


I wonder if i should make up a different name for Blue widow seeing how theres an actual genetic line for that and mine arnt the exact line, yes, it may be the same breed of plants(?) but whatever... What do you guys think? Should i leave it Blue Widow/White berry? or should i change it up? i think i should leave it Blue Widow

Ebay Situation figured Out. Im now Running My Homemade 250 watt HPS Cooltube. Temps Reached to 96 at the roof of my Homebox XS. and at the bottom floor to 75. but flowering tops at 94. I think i may raise the light up a bit

Do you have an exhaust for the room itself? If you are not planning on running a carbon scrubber you can run a regular high CFM fan as your room exhaust.

I'm a believer in ventilation over raising the lights. After all what good are all those lumens doing you when you have to keep them away from the canopy. Invest in a 300CFM squirrel cage fan for the room exhaust and I think that would help your situation much more than raising the light would.

Or you could do what I do in my veg room. I leave the open end (non socket side) of my cooltube open. This allows me to extract heat from both the light and from the room.

Photosynthesis is most effective around 78 degrees and typically you don't want to go above 85 degrees unless you're running CO2.

It's hard to say if there will be any improvement. I'm sure you were running cooler with the T5's probably. What kind of fan are you using to exhaust your cool tube? What is the ambient temperature where you have your grow (the temperature outside the grow environment). I only have 1 inline fan on my cool tube, 1 end open, ambient temperature of 76 and the temps in my box never rise above 78 with my cool tube 4" away from the canopy.

I am running a 400 watt MH/HPS at the moment.

To be honest I would pull your cooltube about 6" more away from the canopy. Put it about 1 foot away. The lumens aren't doing you any good if your photosynthesis is crawling.

Well something is not right. You should be able to put the back side of your hand on the cool tube without it being uncomfortable.

You may see signs of heat stress at around 86-88 degrees and definitely around 90 degrees. I would pull it back. If you uncap your passive intake side of the cool tube you should have a very strong vacuum. If not then the air/radiant heat is sitting inside the cool tube too long and it's leaking out into your room.

I would choose temps over keeping the light close to the canopy. I'm sure others would agree with me but you may want to post this question in the plant problems forum just to be sure.

I would pull it back, or add stronger ventilation rather than leave it where it currently sits.

I hope so. Im really hoping to have denser buds. so far my average is about 22 grams a plant. So lets home it increase since ive added the hps at the 6th week of flowering. My next grow will be the factor with the new genetics. NYCD is going to rest for awhile. I still have 5 seeds left. lets hope they are also females :)

Sounds like you had your welcome to the world of HID lighting with the heat issue. Excellent job on figuring out what was wrong so you can get the most out the light:thumbsup:

I love NYCD and my hats off to you! I would grow it but I would be so frigin parinoid from the smell. I am at the start of ripening now in my current grow and I can still get a wiff from mine occasoinaly thru the scrubers and that gets me parioid. I can't imagin what NYCD would do to me.

Just for Everyones Info. On week 7 i started to use Sweet Leaf by advanced nutrients. Now, i know i should have used this all through out flowering, but i just picked it up and decided to use it now along with during the first 3 days of flush. Im also going to get some carboload for my next grow to give some more flowering...remember this is my last NYCD grow until i pop the last 5 seeds, next grow is Blue Widow

only 6 more days to go till i can harvest. i ran out of bud and cut 2 lower limbs off that were small so i can smoke them in a few days (i know im bad) but on another note, 2 of my 4 NYCD have Turned purple in the leaves!!!! so great, this didnt happen last time. the pic didnt turn out well so i wont post it, hoepfully it will be better by harvest time.

Thanks SNS I have had my temps between 60 and 68 at night, have been leaving the window open to bring in cool air. I didnt know that was the cause of the purple. but i hope it continues, it would be nice to have purple on some buds.

# of them are, and one of them i had to tie and link it to the ceiling to keep her up, shes the one in the top left . in the last set of pics. shes a beefer. This purple on my plants is amazing, im so excited. ive never had purple in my plants before. I dont know if it helps using an HPS system or what? but this is great. Im really hoping to go over my last weigh of 4 diesel girls of 85 grams but the last grow was in 2 gallon pots with t5 and this is 3 gallon with 250 watt hps. and before my girls could stand on there own.

Purple is coming. Im in the 10th week of flower. hoping to harvest this weekend coming up. all the triclomes are pure white. and barely have any amber on the actual buds, the green small leaves around the bud are all amber. if by thursday evening i do not have enough amber i will continue with the grow for another week. from the buds i harvested early they have a wonderful flavor and the high is the same as the NYCD in my previous post, how ever now the small is more like candy watermellons.

Harvest is on saturday or sunday. when ever im free to do so. all the tops have brown hairs and the leaves are all purple or yellow. beautiful. smoked some of the premature from a week ago and damn, its stronger then the last batch. i dont know how. but im fucking knocked on my ass.

Weight Report. Out of 4 plants i recieved 101.85 grams of NYCD. Now this equals to about 25.5 grams per plant....dont forget that earlier i said that i had smoked some prior. i know for a fact that this would take me over the 112 gram mark to make atleast one ounce per plant. The upgrade to a 250 watt hps ballast from a T5 is a great difference. so worth the price of buying HPS.

what size pots were those and how long did you veg them? mine shot up like rockets under a 250 hps and i only let them veg to 9 inches tall. they look great, and it looks like you didn't have a problem with stretch

check out my grow journal i am doing now with nycd. out of three girls, one is definately a different pheno in that it is growing much thicker and has a main cola that forks off at the top creating two matching tips. i have clones taken so i definately want to see it happen again

No offense, but it appears that you did not yeild that much from your plants. If they were grown outside, you would have yelded 2-3 times as much. Sour D is a sativa. Sativas can grow up to 7 feet and can yeild up to a pound per plant.
