i know people and i do it as well, flush with 1-2 tsp of flora kleen (GH) per gallon of water till it runs well out the bottom one week before harvest. i have flushed plants starting 2 wks from harvest and cant notice a difference when using flora kleen.

A flush is a great way to loosen-up and wash away the salt build-up, which affects your ph, your nutrient uptake, and general overall health.
Flushing often is not recommended. I do it done once a month, or every 6 weeks from veg, thru flower, using approx. 3 times the volume of water that will fit in your pot, of properly ph'd water. (takes about 5 minutes per pot) Let it drain well, and no more water till soil dries out, or you risk root rot.
Limited yellowing of the fan leaves is normal, deep into flower. If it's yellowing elsewhere on plant, likely she's having other problems, too.

If she needs a flush, she needs a flush.
Flushes are usually not harmful unless the soil isn't allowed to dry-out, or if you do them too often, or if you don't properly adjust the ph.

flushing is best when using a high amount of potash. Im surprised their arent too many responses on this; flush 2-3weeks before harvest especially when using non organic ferts to prevent taste of asss from too much potash which will also make it burn like a rock(& i dont mean the smoke-able kind)... not very well at all.
