1st ever grow - leaves curling

Hi, this is my 1st ever grow, I planted a Big Budha Cheese seed and after 2 weeks it seems to have grown pretty well.
Im using a 250w halogen light about a foot and a half above the plant in my closet, along with a fan for ventilation.
Its quite warm in there but not 2 hot.
The plant looks healthy but ive started noticing the bigger leaves curling slighty upwards at the edges. they are srill nice an green.
I water the plant once every 3 nights with about a glass of water with a tiny drop of tomato food mixed in.
I'll try get pics up 2mora, anyone know if im doin wrong tho?

Upcurl= acute heat stress.
Get your air flow up and temps down.

You're using a flood lamp.. Halogen lights are horrible for growing with, they are in the wrong color spectrum and they get way too hot.

Your leaves are curling up because they are stresed out due to heat. Remove your halogen lamp and go buy 8 23 watt CFL's and set them up on a Y splitter on a power strip. You will probably achieve better results from being in a better color spectrum as well as much lower heat.

Stop feeding with nutes your plants are only 2 weeks old. :thumbsup:

Hahaha I'm so not awake yet this morning and didn't catch the halogen bit! Totally good catch by Daihashi- that's your major problem right there, and following his advice WILL fix it.

Halogen lights aren't just too hot, they also give the wrong TYPE of light. Yup, that is acute heat stress. You want the canopy around 78'F.

CFLs are really cheap, and so are flourescent shop lights.

How big is that pot? try to pull the soil up and inspect for root bound symptoms as well. The pot doesn't look very big furthermore you didn't fill it up all the way either, which is bad in itself. You want air to be able to move over the soil.

Yes, too hot. Photosynthesis is most effective between 72-78 degrees. You lose efficiency for every degree over 78. You want to have a temperature no higher than 85 degrees.

im guessing it didnt help accidentally leaving the light on and skipping a dark period lastnite either. could adjusting my light timing help? im currently on 18/6 but as its hot could changing 2 say, 16/8 help at all?

It does not take long for heat to occupy an area. This is not a question of time but rather a question of cooling. You can get a 4 pack of CFL's for $8 US. Get two of those, with some y socket splitters and a power strip.

If you skimp on your lighting and cooling you might as well not having a plant that will yield much or be very potent. In addition you can bring about a hermie.

Which i'm going to guess your plant came from a feminized seed since you planted only one, increasing your likelihood to get a hermaphrodite plant.

get a bedside lamp,or 2 and put a energy saving bulb (CFL) in it find the highest watt one you can.That`ll do for a little while.

I already mentioned that to him and he already stated he can't get lights right away.

Yes, if you have a sunny window go put them on the sill for a day (assuming it's safe and you don't have peeping/nosy neighbors or passerby's

They will not really grow much during this time, be sure to keep a fan on them to blow away heat that surrounds the plant directly.

Get some CFLs right away. Or if you can afford it, HID.

yea man. 1st time tho, so hopefully it'll just be a bit of community service. I've given up on weed for a while till it all blows over.
Means im never allowed in the US tho, which is a shame, i had orlando florida booked 4 Xmas.
