Please help me plan. I have up to 2 bedrooms in a house available.
I am looking for budget-conscience equipment, but high yield.
most likely a bug bud or northern lights cross strain.
I want to run 1000s.
because I am on a budget, i feel that hydro systems that can handle the quanity i am going for are too expensive. (ie - 90 site, etc)
Plus I don't have $ to pour into nutes.
so soil it is.
what I was thinking, was four 4x4 plant sites. (4 16 plant stations) with 2 1000w lights on rollers to cover the whole room.
I plan on using CO2 to the fullest extent.
I figure 2k can get me into the door with this setup, and I can continue to improve it with my regular income as I go.
I will of course take ventilation etc etc into account as well.
Please help with any advice and suggestions.

btw, I was thinking of going with 3-4 rainforest 236 (36 site 2'') aeroponics systems. but it says its ideal for propagating cuttings and quick starting seeds. however, I saw in the video a grower who had success with 2'' sites and close to 300 plants (-100 that died ) in a 4x6 area under 2400w (4 600s) I was thinking of doing something similar under 2 1000w with a few 36 site 2" systems.
good idea or nay?

I started with 700$ idk
buy everything basic
make your own grow hut, or buy one
it depends
a lot of things can be made yourself to save money
O what i tell eveyrone is that 600 watt's are more efficient per watt and can be positioned to overlap which may actually increase your lumen output

is what i am posting realistic for a starting budget of 2k? I can put another 1 in within 2-3 weeks of the initial 2k investment.
but I am hoping to get 64 plants, soil, with co2, full vent. and exhaust. ETC

Read Rhizome's guide to growroom setup.
And remember that initial investment vs. long-term investment is a factor. A basic hydro system is just a tray, a medium, and a res with a pump in it. I think I spent less than $250 on each of my flood/drain table systems. If you are handy, your costs are lower.
Soil is a cheap initial startup, but pots and dirt DO add up and dirt is not re-useable.
Use one room for veg and one for bloom, and read the first link in my siggy for some basics.

Coco is reusable up to 3-4 times I've read. Just filter out the roots.. wash the medium.. let it dry out and that's it.
Coco sounds like a great medium. If my grow goes well this time around I'll be advocating for people to grow in coco instead of soil if they are first time growers.
We'll see. I'm trying to absorb much information from other forums that have coco specific subforums to bring back here. I noticed we don't have a whole lot of information on coco here.

"Just" filter out the roots... tee hee!
Have fun brah... I'm all set with filtering out the roots from a whole bedroom full of plants that this guy wants to run. Maybe on a tiny scale.
Hydroton is the ULTIMATE re-useable medium. I honestly don't think it ever goes bad; just dump it in a rubbermaid tote with tepid water and cannazyme, grab the root balls and swirl to release the pebbles, and let soak for a week until it starts to stink, then stick your res pump in there and pump out the water, replace with fresh water, pump out a couple times until the water runs clear, then re-fill and adjust to pH 6. Let sit until the pH appears stable and you are ready to rock n roll.

It's surprisingly not as hard as it seems if you do it immediatley after you cut the plant down. I did it out of boredom to one of my 5 gallon pots before I chucked it..
Take the main stem (or the stub that's left of it) and smash it against the floor a few times. Not pulverizing but give a little more force than the weight of the soil allows. This will cause it to break open.. from there you can kind of wiggle/sift the dirt loose from the root mass. Then take a fine screen and run your loose soil through it.
Took me like 10 minutes to do 1 pot and I didn't have any visible roots in the what I got back from the pot. You will lose some soil/coco in the process.
Hydrotron, I'm slowly trying to make my way over to hydro but I'm a big pansy. :hippy:

Hey I don't know if you have got your lights yet or how you plan to get them. If you go to High Tech Garden Supply (http://www.htgsupply.com) he has great deals on lights.

I would look into a stadium grow. I have the same start-up and thats what I'm going to get into. These guys are getting 13-15 pounds every 10-12 weeks...depending if they veg or not.

The 600's are a good idea. The digital ballasts with light movers would work good.
Are you experienced with hydro?
If not I would seriously consider soil for the first grow or 2. I would just use one whole bedroom for flower and the other one for cloning and veg.
