US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
Washington will provide Georgia with a one-billion-dollar aid package, adding to the emergency amount of 30 million dollars already paid.

"With our full support and the support of the entire free world, a democratic Georgia will survive, will rebuild and will thrive," US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced on Wednesday.

She said the aid was destined for humanitarian relief efforts and reconstructing the economy.

An amount of 570 million of the aid will be delivered before the end of the year, she added.

"It's high time that Russia meet its obligations to the ceasefire," Rice said, reiterating the US call on Moscow to consider the French-brokered peace agreement.

Russia entered the conflict with Georgia after Tbilisi attacked the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

i dont mind humanitary aid but, an illegal seige of a civillian town that has no defenses against american and israeli planes, cluster munitions, and tanks, georgia killed about 1500-2000 ossetians in the middle of the night between aug 7-8 at the start of the olympics. now thats the most chicken shit bull shit a leader can do to civillians

all the ossetians really had was some rocket launchers and rifles until russia came and interveined,

um, this is odd, but last time i checked, we are in a fucked up economic situation and that $1B could go a long way if it was given out to people as gas rebate or extra tax rebates or somethin! shit, USSR has long been Russia now, and believe me, they aint communists pushing their crap on the world anymore!

plus, Hey we have $8 Trillion dollars foreign debt! are ever gonna do anything about it instead of so idealistically handing out cash to people we support for phony reasons?

what good has Georgia ever done for US interests? other than probably agreeing with Iraq war? or supposedly letting Israel use its now gone airfields in a possible war with Iran (I still dont see how any war with Iran whether directly involving USA or not, can benefit us)

last time i checked USA is 10k miles away from Iran and Europeans- our "allies" we hate so much- better do something for themselves! Iranian missiles hardly have a range of 3000 miles at best, which is disputed by our own experts!

Does anyone know when the debts gonna consume us? Does the government not realise that, although they can make more money, they cant increase its value doing that? And right now, in this day in age i cant see anyone giving another country 1b$. The people who chose to do these things quite simply, must be rich, because they dont understand how much we could have helped ourselves. In my opinion we shouldnt be giving to any other country until we can figure out how to make the debt into the excess.

I wish people had more say in this government, because i know damn well the guy struggleing to survive right now, wouldnt say "hell yes, give the foreigners money for a war, while were in a war, while the economy slowly crashes, while i struggle to survive... By god man your plans are ingenious." Its the idea of someone who doesnt grasp value. I say put some fricken poor people in office, and while your at it more minorities. They are the ones who could make things better, because i would think that they would have a better sense of value. Only becaue they live through the things they must work with, not sitting on top of it speculating how to make it better.

Mabey im completely wrong about all this and i usually stay out of politics but man, this just roused me. Sorry to rant, just that i am getting more fed up with the world. Still plotting about how to change it large scale. For the good of course, unless the apocalypse stops me.
