help, light problem

i got up this morning and realised my HPS light wasn't on, but the ballast was switched on cos i could hear it, can anyone tell me how i can tell if the light is broke by lookin at it?

You will need to try another bulb. Is it a digital ballast? There's a lot of compatabilty problems between certain brands of bulbs and cheap digital ballasts.
