How do you guys initiate the flowering stage of your plants?

I've heard to cut off light for 24hours before starting the 12 / 12...

What about ferts/nutes? what do you do?

It's optional...no big deal either way. No need to split hairs...yet.

I continue the veg ferts for 2 more weeks into 12/12 flowering...then switch to bloom/flowering nutes 10-52-10...

I turn the lights out for 48 hours, then flip back on with 12/12. Never had any probs doing it that way.

As far as nutes, I give a transitional mix of 50/50 grow/bloom nutes for the first 2-3 weeks of flower, then switch to all bloom.
For the last two weeks before harvest, I give only plain water with blackstrap molasses. :)

I start mine out with a debutante ball just to make sure they have the correct entrance into society......

OH PLANTS!.......I just switch the lights. ;) :D

I keep it simple ... when they start alternating branches (indicating maturity), I swap my metal-halide lamp out for a high-pressure sodium lamp, and turn the timer from 18 hours of light, to 12 hours of light ... the plant does the rest ... I also switch to 'flowering nutes' about a week before the lighting change ...

Reaper,

What do you mean by "alternating branches".. I have heard this term before but was never able to see what it looks like

Is there a pic that can be shown?

Thanks in advance!~

Google image alternating nodes marijuana. Third picture is an easy to see example of alternating branches.
