A long video but he's very good at explaining why you don't talk to cops. The 5th amendement is there for a reason. Use it.

Wish I could watch videos... This is something I'd like to know a little more about.
5th amendment and our right to remain silent is golden. But cops don't like silence, of course. And keeping silent will show that you are uncooperative. Not cooperating with them and answering their questions will make 'em suspicious of ya. I still dunno how many ways they could twist around their story of the situation, leading to your arrest for I dunno maybe suspicion of withholding info or protecting a suspect. I mean like.. if they wanna go all out to prove that you're withholding information about something important like knowledge of a crime.
I'm gonna have to go look up some stuff to read about it all now, cause I needs to be edumacated about it.

these 2 guys on the video (a uni professor and a cop) sum it all up
its not about a mere arrest on the spot... its about a "case"
what u know and have in hand that they have no clue about... cuz whatever they have a clue about, can and will be used against u... they get paid to charge ppl with offenses! even if u r 150% innocent... just watch the videos and then go do some research to get an idea easier!

This is why its best to just say nothing. Whatever you say can be completely twisted around and used against you no matter how insignificant it seems.

But a lot of civilians get scuked into the idea that the leo's are there to help you. Just be honest and everything will be fine. Its not that way anymore. Everyone has quoto's and are trying to get ahead politically so they want to see numbers in the news. If they can get you, you're just another statistic.

"to protect and serve".... heh yeah, to protect their system of laws and serve only the system and their interests.
from what I gather, you can say that you're not comfortable answering questions without an attorney present... but it makes no sense to say that if it's for something like a minor traffic violation.
Depending on the state laws, a cop has the right to conduct an investigation and not cooperating can be considered as obstruction, which could be a misdemeanor. Not really sure if that's true but it sounds like it could happen. It's pretty fucked up though that it's ok for them to lie to you and trick you into admitting guilt. So it's always better to just say little or nothing at all.

amen!
look obstruction or no obstruction... if odds are indeed against u, u should expect a charge and 1 day of county jail to the least, so in front the popo stfu and let him do his job and refuse commenting under all circumstances,
just for a lil while go into your fantasy bubble and play deaf/mute role!
and if u r innocent, well there is nothing to be afraid of, u r regardless exercising YOUR RIGHT!!!!

The only thing by law you have to do is to identify yourself. They ask any other questions and just say I don't know.

first part correct
2nd part wrong!
I dont know means u dont know!!!! and later on if they find out u indeed did know something... then thats gonna be a big problem
