Im sorry this might sound like a dee dee dee question but do all hps lights have to have a ballast? Well its time for me to go :bong: it up

Yes....some HID light fixtures have a built in ballast, but they suck. A separate HID ballast for HPS lights is best.

Yes,but some fixtures are self ballasted...I've seen them for sale in FarmTek's catalog...:420thought:

Si. They must.
The ballast wattage must also match the wattage of the bulb you're trying to use. :thumbsup:
