Before I judge Bush, is he on vacation at this time? :stoned:

no way is it anyone's fault. if they say 'hey, leave bitch or you're gonna die' and you stay it is clearly your choice to flip coin.

Gustav was expected to be a category 4 storm. But it was under George Bush's watch that it became a category 5! Coincidence? Hardly!
Vote Obama :s4:
Lets not have 4 more years of deadly hurricanes!

Gustav prompts talk of altering RNC agenda - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/30/rnc.gustav/index.html)
The RNC may change their convention to be a fund raiser for the hurricane victims in light of Gustav.
In addition George Bush will not be in attendance due to Gustav.

Nice to see that Ray Nagin is using his brain instead of partying on Bourbon St. this time.

State and local governments failed the people during Katrina...left a hell of a mess for the fed to have to deal with.
On a side note, lets see what the court jester of the left has to say:
??I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,? Moore said. ??To just have it planned at the same time, that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for Day One of the Republican convention, up in the Twin Cities, at the top of the Mississippi River.?
Moore Under Fire for Saying Gustav Proof ‘There Is a God’ - America’s Election HQ (http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/30/moore-on-gustav-there-is-a-god-in-heaven/)
People having to evacuate their homes and businesses and this dude makes a statement like this? I think that the court jester just elevated himself to King of the assclowns.

Obviously, Michael Moore was making a joke. It's not like the Republicans are immune from making jokes in poor taste. Remember Clayton Williams? The guy who said that weather was like rape, "As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it." I could tell all sorts of horrible stories about women and children being raped, and then throw in this quote at the end to make him seem like a truly awful human being. Kind of like what you were trying to do to Michael Moore. But it's completely irrelevant and definitely not the sort of thing you should be focusing on in an election.

Yeah... how is a local government supposed to get to work fixing the problem when their entire city is underwater? A problem of that magnitude really needs federal intervention. While few people would go so far as to say Bush caused Katrina, (though, considering the butterfly effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect), it's not out of the question ;)) he certainly didn't handle the situation well. First, the Army Corps of Engineers was stretched pretty thin, and too many were working on rebuilding infrastructure in Iraq. The ACOE has been responsible for the upkeep of the New Orleans levees. Second, the guy Bush appointed to be in charge of FEMA was incompetent. Third, FEMA responded far slower than it should have. And fourth, when FEMA finally did respond, they wasted millions of taxpayer dollars and weren't very effective anyway.

A good excuse to distance the RNC from the Bush regime! (8 is enough)??
Good luck to those in that area and hope you are already packed and outta there! PR
Billionfold: Bush is (or now was) scheduled to be at the convention. He has been on vacation all year! But, he is in this country right now! Pr

Nothing at all to do with this election and bad taste is bad taste no matter what side of the aisle it comes from. Michael Moore has proven once again that he is an assclown of the highest degree. He has since responded with a "letter to God" which I feel is just about as disgusting as his original statement. Defend whoever you wish but your wasting your time on this dude.
