Brand new Dark Room, small tear on main door - what to do??

Finally setup my new darkroom and there's a small tear on the main door. It's about the size of a penny ... anyone know the best way to patch it up?

Tape + glue on the outside, nothing on the inside?

A small piece of thick black nylon like backpacks or made of, held in place with tent-repair glue or sewn on would be ideal, but anything that completely blocks light is fine.
