MY CURRENT GROW, DP ORANGE BUD...

Howdy all,

This is my first time growing DP OrangeBud...I enjoy growing first timers because ya never know exactly what they're gonna do...

VEG Dirt-
3 parts Pro-Mix
1 part perlite
1 part earthworm castings
10 TBS dolomite lime
5 TBS FoxFarm Peace Of Mind 5-5-5
2 TBS blood meal
(per 5 gallon bucket)

FLWR Dirt-
3 parts Pro-MIX
1 part perlite
1 part earthworm castings
10 TBS dolomite lime
5 TBS FoxFarm Peace Of Mind 5-5-5
2 TBS bone meal
2 TBS bat guano
2 TBS seabird guano
(per 5 gallon bucket)

200 watt CFL to start,then a 600watt MH conversion bulb

FLWR LITE-
600watt HPS "and or" a 400watt HPS ChromeDome(with built in reflector)swinging in the breeze and T-5(warm) suppilmental side lighting at times...

These plants are mostly Sativa...I usually veg for 6 to 7 weeks,but these girls have more stretch than I'm used to...I have my light up as high as it goes,6 feet,and I'l have to tie the tops down further than I already have...I had to put one of the plants on a spaghetti pot to stay even with her taller sister...About OrangeBud,the "Big Book Of Buds 2" says "Her branches are long,and can be weighted down by the grape-like buds that grow at different sites along their length,making staking a good idea"...I'm hoping I can do a little better than grape-like buds,lol...

Hi jrleister,

They were in veg for one month...Usually I veg longer but there was to much stretch in one of the girls and it seemed like they had enough bud sites to put em into flower...

I started veg with a 200watt CFL and then went directly to a 600watt MH conversion bulb to try and slow em down...With other strains that are more indica I use a 400watt MH conversion bulb for a majority of the veg...

I have 6 feet max at the bottom of my reflector...The tops are being tied every which way...I'll do a loop D loop if I have to,lol...Pics on Monday if I'm not to hung over...

I grew two of these last year in NFT,they got way too big and seriously root bound then the problems started-and the grow got ditched. Make sure you got enough root space before they get too big to move.Looking good so far, good luck,RM.

Thanks 4 the advice...I transplanted em from 1 1/2 qt pots to 5 gallon pots about a week before I started flowering so they have RTG,(room to grow),as far as the roots go...Now,if I can just keep the tops down,lol...

I'll do my best to take some closer shots...I know my picture taking needs work...I'm using a small Sony Cyber-shot that I got as a Christmas present two years ago,(my first digital camera)...I've been meaning to upgrade...

DP OrangeBud doesn't have the greatest yield on the lower part of the plant as you can see...I wasn't suprised though as it said in the Big Book Of Buds2 that the branches grow grape like buds...A little pushin' made em meatballs,lol...
Can't give ya a weight report as I don't have a scale...I give away at least half of every harvest anyway no matter what it weighs...I'll get a picture when it's all trimmed and hangin'...I'll give a smoke report in Nov after a proper cure...
