...I dump out the bong after use so it sits there dry, and doesn't get nastier. It also goes through the dishwasher often.

really? It doesnt leave a dirty bong smell in the dishwasher? or over other dishes? thats neat for us lazy people!

I don't know about that bro...But as long as you don't drink the water, I guess you'd be in the clear

LOL, drink the water from the dishwasher or the bong. I think we've all had bong water in our mouth once. And it only took once to never do it again! but good call

If I wanted dishes that smelt like a dirty bong I would put it in the dishwasher :). Nothing cuts through bong dirt like Isopropyl Alcohol and Sea Salt.

just an idea: not all bongs are dishwasher safe, dishwasher water can get really hot, and many bongs are works of hand, not certified Pyrex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrex)

also depending on size of the bong and design of your dishwasher, the rotating blades may break your bong or screw up your dishwasher

but using the right dishwashing liquid/powder, i doubt u will have a problem with smell.

again generally speaking design of a bong is a in a way thats best cleaned by hand and using a long bottle brush or something similar

I would most likely not put a bong in a dishwasher. If you change the water often enough they never get that gross.
