I have an old washer and dryer in the basement.
Do you think if I gutted one of them it would have
enough space for an indoor grow?

I've seen one grow done in a washer- look up threads started by member 'chronic chrissy'.
If you are handy with metal-cutting tools, you could set yourself up a 2-room stealth system with mother/clone in one and flower (mini SOG) in the other. You will face the same challenges as any micro grower, with the addition of a harder-to- work with material, but if you have the tools, it's REALLY stealth- unless your mother-in-law is the sort to wash your table linens while she's visiting... "La la la, there's the washing machine, let's see, open it up and OMG!!!!1!! Who set this thing to 'grow pot' cycle?"

Thanks stinky,
I have always been that "outdoor guy." Times are changing and so is my
schedule. I think having some meds available at home is the right idea!
The units would remain in the basement storage area and not in the laundry room so no chance of peeks by unwanted eyes :wtf:
I will be cheaping out and using CFLs for lights so how many and what flavor for each room?
I have already moved the washer and dryer to my work area and am getting ready to take them apart:)
I am not sure how much space I will actually end up with.
So many things to think about :)
Would a setup with both rooms like you suggest supply my 2 gram per day need if the right strain were available?
Thanks again for the advice!

Wow this is going to be way more involved than I thought. I need to find a friend
with metal fabrication skillz!

Hows this for things working out..
Went to visit my old buddy (metal worker) today to see
about getting my stealthy washing machine grow closet put together.
He said why not go bigger.. I gave my reasons and he said grow here!
So I know have a place to grow as long as he gets his medicine too.
I will be starting a grow log for all to see and share. This will be my first
indoor grow.
