Is going to win the US election ?
I'm not asking who you are voting for, just who do you think will actualy take the keys to the Whitehouse.
I'm not sure but I have a feeling Obama is going to just fall at the final hurdle.

Curiosity is a terrible thing ;)

Neither. You forgot the 'not voting/write in'

This country is too far in the hole for someone like mccain...And I don't feel like being condemned to serve a different country other than mine.

I think Obama will win. I think it is going to be closer than I thought a month ago, but I think he will win.

Even though a lot of us political enthusiasts have been paying close attention all along for almost a year now, much of the public doesn't really tune in to the election until the conventions. After the next two weeks, the camapigns will really start to take off, and I think Obama will pull ahead and take it.

The Republican "brand" is just too damaged after Bush to prevail. The far right base that does the hard work of the campaigns for the Republicans are not behind McCain to the level that he needs. He doesn't have teh enrgized support that wins campaigns. Obama hs plenty of energized support, volunteers and money --- and I think he will take the election.

There is no "not voting" option because it isn't about who you are voting for .
I voted for Screaming Lord Sutch and The Monster Raving Loony Party every time they had a candidate up for election but I know they have no chance of winning.

I wasn't asking who you're voting for , I asked who do you think will win.

I say, it certainly wont be the American people winning, that's all I know. We're going to get fucked for another four years.

RIP: "We the people.." It's been "I the government" for a long time now

I really would've liked to have seen this country get turned around for the better...Maybe next election...

Kinda seems like a bunch of pessimists on this poll... I mean, do you really think with the direction the US is headed in that there's going to be another republican in power?... just seems like the number of people wanting change outweighs the number of people who are pig headed and ignorant... or I hope so anyway. :)

McCain in a close race. Once people begin to look at this in a logic and rational manner enough will realize that Obama would be too risky of an experiment.

I think Obama will win.
UNLESS Bush enter in other war, and convince the nation that this new war is very important to the country, and because of this McCain should be the president to keep this new war going.

I think the republican majority will edge the victory, based on more experiance in foreign policy and the economy. Also, the Christian right will favour McCain and his pro life stance.

I tend to agree with you, but in politics you cannot take anything for granted. Right now polls show the race in basically a statistical tie. Given how much people have hated the Bush presidency, I would not have expected a close race at this point. But in order for Bush to be a big factor in this election, the Obama campaign has to convice people that McCain will pursue similar policies to Bush, which is exactly what they are trying to do. And McCain will try hard to show that he is different from Bush. Whoever wins that argument will probably win the election.

After people take a close look at both candidates during the conventions and the campaigns pick up steam in the next two weeks, I expect Obama to pull out in front.

Right now, being August, there's not a lot of enthusiasm for the presidential race. But here's the thing, Obama has plenty of enthusiasm behind him. From black people, to young people, to pretty much everyone who's sick of the Bush administration, there's a lot of enthusiasm there. McCain isn't conservative enough for many Republicans, and the independents are mostly sick of Bush. Once people start paying attention to the candidates again, Obama's going to have a lot more potential energy.

This isn't the early primary season and so goes the Obamamania along with it. Between the slap in the face to the voters of Michigan/Florida combined with the screwing that Clinton took, the DNC is a party in shambles.

As for the right backing McCain, they don't want to be stuck with Obama considering that there will probably be Supreme Court Judges stepping down. Not a good man if your a bible thumper/anti-abortion type.

LOL....the DNC is locking away protestors in freedom cages and now it's being talked about that Clinton delegates may have to vote from a hotel room instead of on the floor. The lady got 18 million votes, the way they talk 30% of them are crossing lines to McCain.

To the left wing: wait till 2012, ya may have a chance with Clinton.

Have a good one!:s4:

McCain.

Because I believe Obama is far to inexperienced and that will ultimately be his down fall.

And the way things are going with Russia, Georgia, etc, i dont doubt its exactly what will happen.

McCain has been hammering Obama on inexperience, and what does he do? He picks a VP that is even less experienced than Obama with no foreign policy experience and no Washington experience. If Obama is too inexperienced to be president, then why isn't Sarah Palin?

Yeah, it seems like this completely negates the experience argument, which is really the only argument that was getting any traction against Obama. If the experience issue was really that important to the McCain campaign, then why did they get someone with such thin experience? Less than 2 years as governor, and mayor of a small town before that? That's surprising. The Obama campaign must be pleased about that. It's far too early to say, but I think Sarah Palin may have been a bad choice.

Obama didn't until 97'.

from wikipedia: "Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council from 1992 to 1996, was elected mayor of Wasilla in 1996. "

"The 2005 estimate gives it a population of 8,471,[1] although the city website lists the population as 6,715"

"Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004."

yeah, I guess you're right. but come on, serving a city of under 10K, 1400 miles from mainland US doesnt really qualify as top level political office! I believe that a state level senator is. Im not knocking her as a person or politician, Im just saying that its not really presidential qualifications!

i have little faith in the intelligence of the electorate and i'm afraid we're going to be stuck with brak for the next four years. he speaks well and he looks good and he represents a move away from the current state of affairs, that is all the ignorant masses need to hear to vote the loser in. the fact that he is no different than any other political animal is of no consequence, appearances are all that matter. the poor will vote for him out of greed, the rich will vote for him out of guilt, the anti-wars will vote for him even though he really doesn't give a shit about ending any war, the black community will vote for him out of racism, the liberals will vote for him as a merely knee-jerk reaction.....

is that enough to put him in the white house or do you need more?
______________________________________________

of course there really isn't much difference between mccain and obama. one is an old white dude, the other is a young black dude. one will tax us back into the stone age, the other will only tax us back into the last century. they will both bring us closer to the totalitarian wet dream of the big government socialists, so what's the point of even bothering to choose.
