View Full Version : Thinking of getting a vaporizer

I've been doing some research debating between a bong and a vaporizer and I'm almost positive that I'm going to go with a vaporizer. A few questions though.
The high is different but how is it different? I heard it's more intense, is that true? As intense as a bong hit? Do vape highs last significantly shorter than a regular high? And about how many times can you vape the same weed?
Also I'm looking for something portable, something I could like carry in my coat pocket or something so I'm looking to get a vapman. They any good? If not any other good portable vaporizers?
EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot to ask. Are bongs healthier than joints/blunts/bowls/etc? My friend was telling me that it was better for you and I looked online and found conflicting claims.

first off it depends on your tolerance levels and how much u smoke
2nd it depends on what kind of bud u smoke
but speaking in general terms, u kinda get an extra buzz feeling added to your normal high all over your body and since the amount of 1 hit checmicals u can take in will be more concentrated THC than normal burning smoke hits, u will get more THC per hit thus feeling a more intense high...
kind of like a straight shot of some strong drink compared to slowly sipping it
if i had the dough, I would take a vaporizer any day over a bong, although bongs are aight as well. it gives a more intense high and it also IS healthier, to the least it gives u far less TAR in the lungs!
my edit on on your edit :P
i highly doubt bongs are healthier than blunts/joints in any significant way. only the smoke passes thru the water and makes it moister than usual and thus smoother on your throat but technically speaking the harmful components are still in there, mainly TAR

Thanks a lot man. Now that I think about it, I don't really care about the health issues since I only smoke once a week anyway.
I heard vaporizer highs give you a more alert high and you don't act as stupid? True or false? Man, I really wish I could smoke out of both of these before making my decision.

I really wish I could smoke out of both of these before making my decision. A bong gives the same effect as a joint, pipe, etc. If you want a taste of vapor without buying a vape, there are instructions for making a lightbulb vape available all over the place. It produces vapor just fine as long as you don't give it too much heat and burn it.

Haha, trust me, a few good vape hits will get you real stupid.
The advantages to having a vape in my opinion are:
A) Health. After smoking heavily for about a year, I noticed that during sports and stuff my lungs simply didnt hold up like they used to. Vaporizing is much gentler on your lungs, and after buying one Ive actually been able to start jogging again.
B) Efficiency. Anyone who owns a vape (a decent one at least) will tell you that vaporizing uses less weed, and gets you just as high. As an added bonus, you can save your vaped leftovers and use them to cook.
C) Smell. A vaporizer gives off a much different smell than a joint, and the scent seems to linger less. Now when the parents come to visit or a non-stoner-friendly person enters your room, they aren't blasted with the familiar stench of pot smoke, which makes stealth smoking easier and less stressful.
I feel like im writing a book report
If you can afford the initial investment, go for it. The long-term benefits are well worth it, and years from now your lungs will thank you.

Argh oh man. >_>
I truley can't decide between a vaporizer and a bong. Thanks for the help guys but I think I'm just gonna make a ghetto vaporizer and see how it hits before making my decision. Just don't want to fuck around with my decision when I'm putting so much money down on this.

Go with the Vap. Being in the music business I have bought many vaps for musicians to save the vocal chords.
