View Full Version : Job application and criminal convictions? Drug paraphernalia?

I've gotten two drug paraphernalia tickets months ago which are classified as class C misdemeanors in Texas. I was also arrested with delivery of marijuana: 1/4oz-5lbs (a felony) which was changed to a regular possession charge (class B misdemeanor), but hired a lawyer who's almost got me into a pretrial diversion program. I'm looking for a job and trying to fill out applications but I'm not sure how to respond to "Have you been convicted of a crime in the last seven years?". I'm concerned that checking yes will hurt my chances but I don't want to lie. Also, many ask that if you check yes, explain or list convictions and I'm not sure how to respond here as well. Thanks in advance for your responses.

i cant really tell u what to do, but u said u got a lawyer, why dont u ask him/her, they can give u the best advice. i just know some businesses like fastfood stores, really dont care about what goes on application and many dont (or dont have the means to) check the truth of your statements anyways, thats from my own experience, yours may differ!
